The only difference to me is the pricetag, do i wait to buy the expensive one or just the cheaper one?

646.67$

  • AMD FX-8120 Processor 3.1 GHz
  • 8GB DDR3
  • 500 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
  • NVIDIA GT630 2GB Graphics
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

819.74$

  • Intel Core i5-4570 Processor 3.2 GHz (6 MB cache)
  • 8 GB SDRAM DDR3
  • 1024 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 Graphics
  • Windows 8

I am sick and tired of waiting to buy the expensive one, i can get the cheaper one, i dont see a major difference, the only games i really plan on playing are Starcraft 2 and the new Sims City game

PS: Dont waste your time telling me to build a computer cause i dont want to! At all lol i just wanna get it done and get one :)

Well, I would like to say it sucks you don't want to build one yourself. It is a lot of fun and you feel a sense of accomplishment and enjoy it even more because it was made by your hands, unlike a console or pre-built machine. With that completely out of the way, if you have the money and are ok with spending over $800 get the Intel/Nvidia build. It has a larger storage device and a better GPU. Plus, Windows 8 is newer and will last you longer than 7.

Maybe it's just me. But, I think the Intel PC smokes the cheaper AMD one.

The GT630 is not for gaming the GTX660 is.

The "GT" (not GTX) 630 might play a HD movie if you're lucky

Huge difference in gaming performance.

The cheaper one has a GT 630 a card that struggles to get a solid 30FPS with games even on medium settings. Its a entry level GPU and low is about all it can comfortably do.

Personally I would go for the Intel build with the GTX 660. Its worth the extra cash.

EDIT:

As you can see below that Sim City is not a easy game to run...

PS... The GT 630 is slower than the HD 6750.

You would struggle to achieve 20FPS on medium settings with the new Sim City.

A GTX 660 will give you more than double the perfromance.

Both are overpriced and two generations of cards behind now. At least get something with the 700 series in it or the r9 series of cards.

get the intel pc if you have to. Its price is about right...

the cpu is worth 220, the video card 200, case-psu 100, windows 100, memory 50, motherboard 100 minimum, hard drive 50-100. Thats about 800 bucks right there (im going by canadian prices, if ur american subtract a bit)

also factor in at least a few days of time if you were to build it yourself and learn how to do it, your looking at hundreds or more dollars wasted learning that since you don't want to learn that anyways... time you could have spent earning money instead. so 800 dollars is a not bad. I think a 770 gtx graphics card would get you further but you can always upgrade the 660 when you feel its too weak, it should have no troubles with starcraft 2.

Don't buy the AMD one unless your going to overclock the CPU and also put a good graphics card in it

It also comes with a operating system. So that's another $100.

The Intel build seems reasonable for the price. All it would need is a PSU swap and a better CPU cooler to be rock solid for heavy gaming.

The second computer is much better. Intel's processors are dramatically better than AMD's current offerings and the second computer has a real gaming graphics card. Do not buy the first computer.
