How in the hell did somebody mod GTA 4 to murder Crysis's graphics?

That looks truly like real life. How is it someobody can mod GTA iv and its engine to look way BETTER than modded Crysis?

I've been playing with this mod for a while and it truly is impressive what they did with GTA 4.

I'm definatly gonna make some videos with it.

Watched a raw footage video and not just screens of this. Day time is average by today's standards at best. It's not that great. Night time looks good only because of the amount of lights and car reflections.

Sorry, but Crysis still looks way better.

Not that big of a fps hit, maybe 5-10 fps. But it looks smoother with the HQ motion blur than vanilla GTA :D

I'm getting 30-50 fps btw.

I think the lighting, especially in cloudy weather is one of the best i've seen in any game.

GTA 4 renders a big city with dozens of pedestrians and cars, filled with details even in the smallest side alleys. I think it's way more impressive to get a big city looking that good.

this is how it looks on my system with a core 2 duo and 3 gb ram and HD 6950 1 gb i am getting exteremly poor frame rates can any one suggest a solution ?

it doesnt come close to Crysis

in screenshots it does, but in game it doesnt come close

hey what frame rates are u getting ? over 40 or 50fps or over 20fps but less that 40fps ?? what patch u running gta 4 with this mod ? V 1.0.7 ? would u mind posting ur system specs ?? i get only 8 to 20 fps with this mod :( but it looks just like ur pics :)

WT . . . are they teaching in schools these days? You can't use the storage space on a bluray disc, as a substitute for RAM .

Also - One of the main problems with the 360 and PS3, is - they don't have enough RAM. That's been one of the reasons this console generation has been such a failure, well that and the lack of variety of games. And yes - consoles need RAM, just like PCs do - 1GB is the absolute minimum - consoles went with half of that. Maybe they'll get right next time - and next time is almost here.

GTA 4 mods aside, we now know what the next generation will look like, and also how developers are holding back!!! But I guess its not a bad thing that they are holding back because how many people would be able to run something like this lol.

You want to upload your ENB config file? Mine looks NOTHING like that :( :P

Would be useless, i didn't mess with the config file at all, well except i turned on super sampling for screenshot purposes. My screens show how the mod looks like if installed right.

You need to have xliveless and patch 1.0.4.0 to get it looking exactly like this.

Without xliveless you get the motion blur, FXAA but the lighting and SSAO aren't right.

Did you maybe turn on super sampling AA? It kills your framerate. Look in the iceconfig file for forceantialiasing and put in = false

i'm getting 30-50 fps with settings on very high except draw distance which kills my CPU.

I have a Q9650 @ 3GHz, 4 GB Ram, 480 GTX, Windows 7 running GTA 1.0.4.0

Considering my GPU is close to overheating whenever I play GTA 4, plain, I suspect that with this mod then the entire case along with every component wouldn't only melt but also turn into magma and burn through the floor.Treflis

Then get a bucket full of water, pour it on it and get obsidian. :P
Yeah my brother is playing GTA IV with that mod and it's impressive. Only problem is that in the cutscenes there's way too much Bloom and can't see the faces.

I played some more after I posted and on the default settings this mod is really ugly. The depth of field and whatever else gets annoying and makes the game really blurry, it's so bright you can barely read the signs in taxis, everything is just generally overly bright and has a higher contrast. Even night time doesn't look that much better. Just more lights/shiney stuff.

How do they get it looking like those screenshots because I call BS.

Did you install xliveless?

Post some screens please so we can tell if your mod is working like it should.
