I've finally got together the components, and I'm about to order but I'd like to verify whether i'm getting the right ones, and whether they're value for money, so that's why i'm asking the professionals over at PC Hardware, so here goes:

Case: Antec Nine Hundred
PSU: 500 Watts
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz 1333FSB 12MB L2
Mobo: MSI P31 Neo-F V2 P31 Chipset LGA775 FSB800/1066/1333 DDR2
RAM: G.Skill Value 4GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express
HD: 500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM

Total: Just under £1,000.

So, what do you guys think?

Last time I checked, those parts shouldn't be costing quite that much. OP, are you building this yourself or are you ordering this pre-assembled? If the former, I'd shop around some more before buying.

Yeah, I guass a very good price if your building it yourself it would be what, less than 1500$, or 750 pounds (very roughly). Pre-assebled boosts the price ever so slightly.

I'd suggest spending a bit more and going for a 650w PSU. In the long run, and just to be sure none of your stuff is pushing the psu too much, it'd be a safer bet.

Less than 2000$;) About 1700 but it hink it is more like 1800$:P Is it prebuilt? That seems like a lot for those parts... unless it costs more for parts in EU. Mehhh nice build though =D im concern for your PSU though...

I don't agree with him calling the guy an idiot because he's overspending, but he really is overspending. You could build an equivalent or better system for less than $800, that's for sure. You just have to be open to overclocking.

The scary thing is that I can pick out parts for a computer that has a Core i7 and ATI hd 4870 for about 2/3 the price in America. I would say that it's overall a pretty good build, you could perhaps improve on the video card considering the 9800gt is equivalent to the 8800gt and considering your processor. I would try to find things cheaper though.
