CoH, WarCraft 3, StarCraft, WiC and Sins of A Solar Empire.thusahaCan't go wrong with any of these.
CoH, WarCraft 3, StarCraft, WiC and Sins of A Solar Empire.thusahaI've played starcraft before. Sins of A Solar Empire looks interesting, would you recomend it over DoW 2?
Play some demos and just pick what you like. I'd also reccomend:
World in Conflict, Homeworld 1/2, Rome: Total War

I was also looking at the total war series. I can't run empires, so would you guys suggest Medieval 2 or Rome?SmeagleTEhBombRome!
Thanks for the help ppl. It's between the total war games and DoW2, so I think i'll download some demos to help me decide :)
I'll keep that in mind dg8794.the total war demos wont do justice to the full games as the demos are just battles which is only half the game
dg8794
i never thought of the Total war series as a good intro to rts genre. it's rather more in depth than many want to go.Ontain
I've played civilization and enjoyed it thoroughly. I don't believe Total War will be horribly more in depth then that title.
Rome:Total War Gold Edition is also on sale at Direct2Drive for $5. You really can't go wrong with that kind of price.
Get Rome Total War. I think Sins is a terrible overrated game, which involves no tactics or management during battles. Rome on the other hand relies heavily on tactics to win battles.

Its not as indepth.
Some days in Total War I'll put 7 hours in a day into it :P
It's really fun but also its taught me, losing some battles is ok its not easy :P
[QUOTE="SmeagleTEhBomb"]Hey guys, another quick question. I'm trying to download the DoW2 demo off this site: http://www.bigdownload.com/games/warhammer-40000-dawn-of-war-ii/pc/dawn-of-war-2-single-player-demo/ Every time i try to open the dang thing nothing comes up. Can anybody tell me why it's not installing?FPS_Gamer123If you have Steam, get it off there. Just joined. Thanks :)
If you don't mind graphic, I suggest you play Age of Empire series. They introduced me to RTS.nchan
Alright fellas, let me fill you in on a couple of herewith undisclosed facts. My I3 vaio laptop boasts a NVidia 310m.
After looking at some of the reviews for this card I am beginning to doubt whether i can run DoW2 at all. The downloads 77% done so i'll know for sure within the hour, but any insight is appreciated.
If it's any help CAN YOU RUN IT says my laptop is quite capable of hadling the game above the reccomended settings: http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/analysis.aspx
Have you tried Rise of Nations?thusaha
No, but my friend thinks it's great.
Well, I think you should get it. Yeah, well what if I want Rtw.I'll keep that in mind dg8794.[QUOTE="dg8794"]

Rome is really good. Total war games are a lot different then civilizations, but have a few similarities.

you shouldnt judge depth by the length but civilization games go for longer than that consistently
