Dark Souls, we need more noobs to own and this game is fantastic. Its only about $8 on steam right now and its totally worth it. Be part of the growing community here on http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Dark%20Souls

for the lower levels I have noticed it was more active. Later on it starts getting quiet but, once you beat the game once and learn how to properly invade people. PVP will be within minutes of you activating soapsigns and whatnot.
lol no. I really tried to like it when I had it on the PS3. I could never get into it.xsubtownerx

A little too slow for my tastes. Did a playthrough on 360 a long while ago, didn't see a reason to make a new character or continue a New Game +, so definitely won't spend money on it again. Was fun while it lasted though I guess.
I got it on PS3 and it's pretty great, but my need to do and see everything has made much of the game a grind and even a year and a half later I'm only 3/4 of the way through.
I'll beat it before the year's end though!
The only thing I that's stopping me from buying it is the fact that I would have to shell out $$$ for an xbox 360 controller. That would make the grand total very unappealing. Damn.Elann2008you dont play any games that work better with a controller? Analog thumbstick controls and pressure sensitive triggers are far better than a keyboard for lots of games.
as far as I'm aware, the lack of quick save options is a large part of the appeal. Although if it really bugs you, you can use a trainer and cheat.Dark Souls has great gameplay but the lack of a save option absolutely ruins it.
Demons Souls had the same problem but was a still better than Dark Souls.

I was on my second playthrough about 3 months ago when I got to SMough and Ornstein. They owned my anus hard for about 3 hours after which I rage quit and uninstalled. Atleast I finished it once...
I'm psychologically preparing myself for the sequel.

If the game requires a trainer and cheats to be enjoyable, then it is a broken game.
Too bad, because Dark Souls had so much potential.
Its a brilliant game but hard work to get in to. Took me like 20 hours before I started enjoying it.

You really should have one anyway. It's good for some games. I couldn't play everything with mouse and keyboard.

I dont have one. I play my "non keyboard friendly" games fine with a Logitech dual action game controller that cost me £2.50 about 10 years ago, why should I have to buy an XBOX controller?
Cant stand that game I dont see whats so good about it. The hideous voice acting, dieing and respawing all the time and having enemies respawn all the time wast my idea of fun at all.

I hope you're being sarcastic here. Filthy casuals enjoy single player games.I see allot of QQ in here. If you cant handle the game dont buy it. BTW the multplayer is very much alive, you gotta know where to look.

I hope you're being sarcastic here. Filthy casuals enjoy single player games. Yup, and that's why all the most popular casual games are multiplayer, right? This just in, if you buy Dark Souls on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00917DBUE/?tag=amazwidget-20 and type the code "gooncave" it will only cost $6.37

Does that controller have trigger sensitive shoulder buttons like the 360 controller? It looks like a PS2 controller with simple click shoulder buttons.[QUOTE="Elann2008"]The only thing I that's stopping me from buying it is the fact that I would have to shell out $$$ for an xbox 360 controller. I used to have one when I had an Xbox 360 but then I gave it away to my little cousins. Over time, $35 isn't a lot considering I spend more on games in general. It's weird because I would like play racing games that I have and "once in a while" titles like Dark Souls. Other than that, I haven't felt the need to have one at hand. Maybe I"m just cheap for no good reason. :PDark Souls has great gameplay but the lack of a save option absolutely ruins it.

If you think this, you missed the entire core concept of the game. Play better.
Do you have the same complaints about Pac-man and Frogger?

If you are better at the game, you don't have to worry about dying and respawning constantly. The enemies respawn because if they didn't there would be no learning from your mistakes, not to mention it would be nearly impossible to level and/or upgrade your gear because they use the same currency.
