This is probably a bit of an odd question but I recently bought a 360 controller for the bad ports that are unplayable without a gamepad. Problem is the last time I used a gamepad was roughly 11 years ago, what are some good games to get used to this thing?

I'm looking for something that isn't too hard, isn't made for first person or doesn't require too much trial and error. So no fighting games, FPS/Skyrim or Super Meat Boy-esque things. At the moment I have Shank, Bastion and Just Cause 2 which are helping but I want a few more games.

GRID, DiRT 2, Alice Madness Returns, Prototype, The Last Remnant, The Saboteur and GTA IV. I know you said no FPS, but L4D2, Bulletstorm, Borderlands, Dead Space and RE5 all work well with gamepads, just don't do MP especially for L4D2. And yes, I'm aware DS and RE5 aren't FPS... close enough. :P I think TPS and Racing games are best with Gamepads.

I played Batman Arkham, Bastion, LA Noire, Limbo, NBA 2k12, and Splinter Cell Conviction using my X360 controller and it works well.

Most of the stuff on GFWL has pretty good controller support. The batman games are a pretty good choice. Dirt 2/3. Resident Evil 5. Even Gears of War but the online is pretty dead. Dead Space 1-2.

Just about any console port or any driving game. But honestly, imo controllers are only good for driving games, platformers and maybe some adventure games. Any game that has any sort of aiming is better off with KBM.

Oh wow, I didn't realise so many games supported the XBox 360 controller. I'm going to have to go and buy one now. I will add Sonic Generations to this list. The game was a pain because I had to remap all the controls for it. Not to mention that all the button prompts were for the 360 controller.

Racing games are best played with racing wheels and pedals, with few exceptions (Burnout comes to mind). Just like how you wouldn't play a flight sim without a flight stick at a minimum. Save for a few titles that do tend to control best on gamepads (twin-stick 2D shooters and 3D platformers), they're more of a "jack of all trades, master of none" input device. And while the X360 pads have good support due to the prevalence of XInput in recent PC games, all the older ones that use DirectInput put the X360 pads at a serious disadvantage for configurability and compatibility (triggers locked into a combined axis instead of separate axes or buttons, right stick mapped to X Rotation and Y Rotation instead of Throttle and Z Rotation or the other way around) unless you use the XBCD drivers, and then you lose rumble in XInput titles (but can regain the basic controls).

Bioshock and Lara Croft: Guardian of Light are two of my favorite PC games for using with a 360 controller.

GTA IV kind of needs it for some segments. I prefer to drive without it since I can aim with the mouse without firing (which can't be done on the gamepad), but shooting and aiming in cover sucks without the gamepad aim circle thingy (since popping out to shoot a guy means your reticle will move, and you have to spend your time in cover accounting for that without a gamepad), and choppers are damn near impossible without a gamepad.

So thank God for the support.

I play Saints Row The Third, Batman Arkham City and Super Meat Boy with a gamepad. Pretty much any game that is on the consoles will have good gamepad support. And some others that aren't on the consoles will probably have good gamepad support.

L.A Noire had pretty good support. Any pad, not just the 360 one.

EDIT: Ok, now i see what you mean.

Well, Personally, i never play with Pads on my PC, i like Mouse and Keyboard More. That's Just My personal Preference(i do Own Consoles, but only have them for The Exclusives, everything else is on my PC)

But.... from what i hear TW2 was made Pads in Mind even though it' s PC exclusive at the moment, so Maybe that?

Sorry i can't help you much.

- NBA2k12

- Fifa 12

- Batman AC

- DIRT3

Those all handle very well with a controller.

Does anyone here play Crysis with a 360 controller at Delta difficulty? Man, I just keep getting waxed by the KPA.

Most driving games, the Batman series and the Assassin's Creed series all do work best with controllers (Though I get the impression that Ubisoft want MOAR BUTTONS for the AC series...).
