Do you think I can run the game in 1920x1200 if I tone down some settings and use your "tweaks"? No AA needed if it takes the FPS down much.
This should be my system:
Microsoft Windows XP Home 32bit
Service Pack 3, v.5657 (Not sure)
Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS G92 512Mb
Video Driver version: (Dunno - newest I presume.)
Audio Adapter: (Don't know =l)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9459 @ 2.66GHz 1333FSB
1) Putting Shadow density to 0 in game settings. If you notice carefully, the game looks better with setting shadow density to 0.You'll get a massive frame rate increase by turning off the clip recorder from the game menu.
2) Putting -norestriction in the shortcut to GTA4 launcher.zaigham_riaz
Will people just admit this was a crappy job on Rockstars part already?jmnderson69Hell yeah also admit that am not paying for this garbage.. because its garbage allright... isnt it? i cant even see the textures hell it will be better if it just lag alot... that not a game to pay for.... that endures piracy!
Mine runs right, but at like 30-40 FPS, I mean cmon it doesnt look that nice!jmnderson69in what settings i can run it on max , max resolution highest quality and everything in 100 but :) i got no textures.....:( no lag however:) I dont know what to hate more!
Textures on high, Render quality on high, View distance is 30, Detail distance 100 and vehicle density is 70. Its a smooth minimum FPS for the most part. Still a piss poor port, a game shouldnt require you to spend more time tweaking than gaming to enjoy it!jmnderson69Did you said you got a 8800 gt and you run it like that? 30-30 fps? if i was you id be a happy man!
[QUOTE="jmnderson69"]Nah I had an 8800Gt a few months ago now...im now on an XFX GTX 260 XXX Edition.Hellboardholy christ..... at lest you get graphics i don even seen them.. but performance....never lags! Thats why im also angry with R*, a GTX 260 should demolish those kind of visuals.

No, at that resolution you will be limited by your GPU. When I play at 2048*1536, I start facing "missing textures" problems. Although the frame rates remain almost same, but I can't see any textures.Do you think I can run the game in 1920x1200 if I tone down some settings and use your "tweaks"? I downloaded the new Nvidia patch, I set Shadow density to 0, turned off the clip recorder, set textures to low and res down to 1280 x 720, and with my specs I feel like I shoud be doing waaay better than 7fps??? PLEASE anyone help me with any tips!!

Is it the video card? Im not exactly expecting 60 fps but even 20 would be nice, this isnt even playable. I just dont get it...it seems abysmally low.
If you forgot -norestriction thing, you should do it as a tweak before any thing else.Hey guys,

one of mines its a core 2.4, 3gb ddr3 ram, and a ge-force 7300le (lamer), vista ux64sp1
the game runs horrible, like 7fps, all detail minimum, and after a while the camera moves in "drunk" effect, every car i get on get the engine smoked ( only when i drive it ) and the brakes dont work ... is there a tool for gta4 performance? or someting that decrease the shaders ( i think that the ge73 sucks too ) and something to delete the cameraand driving problems? please
Buy the game. Don't be a pirate. The smoking engine and drunk camera is a sign that you pirated the game.one of mines its a core 2.4, 3gb ddr3 ram, and a ge-force 7300le (lamer), vista ux64sp1

Maybe, just MAYBE people wouldn't pirate games if companies like R* didn't release crappy half-assed ports that weren't worth the gas to the store.one of mines its a core 2.4, 3gb ddr3 ram, and a ge-force 7300le (lamer), vista ux64sp1

I heard that the drunk cam and the smoking engine is caused from the pirated version ( I cannot indepently verify that because I didn't download GTAIV because I think it is wrong).
Also if you are complaining because you bought the game, that is one thing but when you download it and complain about the bugs and it not running for you, don't expect any sympathy.
[QUOTE="jmnderson69"]Will people just admit this was a crappy job on Rockstars part already?rs0101lol yea. ppl trying so hard to make it seem like a 10/10 game. you guys are nuts, the PC version looks a lot better than its console counterparts.. this has happened every single time GTA has come out, the fps were not that great on current systems i honestly dont know what these people have been smoking to not recall that
that is somewhat true, but how do we know that legitimate customers aren't getting the problem as well?I heard that the drunk cam and the smoking engine is caused from the pirated version ( I cannot indepently verify that because I didn't download GTAIV because I think it is wrong).
