Im thinking its an issue with using a 64 bit os, i have vista 32 and 64 on my harddrive and installed the demo on both, the 64 bit keeps giving me temporary video driver crashes, with no such thing happening on 32 bit

Hey, I am also using Vista 64 bit and I have no problems with the game. The only thing is while the game runs smooth 99% of the time, it hiccups once in a while.

i have 64 bit vista, got the demo off steam, and run it maxed at 1920x1080

it runs butter smooth, only hiccups occur when i look at certain objects.....which is really weird, cause heavy combat and explosions don't even touch the fps, but sometimes as soon as i look at one random object or section of a room, the framerate dips

i have no idea why, probably optimization issues

run the game in safe mode. if using steam just right click on fear 2 demo\properties\set launch options. on the box type -safemode this starts the game on my PC. if not using steam then find a way to run it on safe mode. i think its gonna work.

I just downloaded it.

Runs reasonably ok on XP Home SP2 but I have no sound at all/

There's sound on the intro screens but not in game - any ideas?

Thanks

It's not a Vista 64bit issue..i was expecting the same when i installed this game about 30 mins ago. Just try downloading the full 1.xgb file from FileFront. that's where i got mine, took a while but, it played no prob. That is, of course, if you're having issues installing it..could be a corrupted download. Otherwise, if you're having issues playing the game..check your drivers..make sure everything is up-to-date. Also, try installing dx 9.0c or whatever it is..for some reason, i had to when i wanted to play CoD4..i figure it's vista, just use dx10..but, you may still need to install it.

hey forget what i said about the safe mode hing. jus go to the folder where the demo is installed. then look for a folder named support. inside there must be a dx9 folder and another file named vcredist_86x. run it and ull be able to play.
