A biased poll I see there, showing only 2 extremes. I like motion blur in racing games games that have driving elements. But otherwise I prefer to turn it off.

No

There are a few options i miss from games:

1) The ability to decide how much bloom you want (0-100 where 0 is no bloom and 100 is how much the devs intended the game to have in the first place).

2) The ability to change blur / motion blur in the same way as Bloom. 0 to 100 with 0 being no blur and 100 being the intended blur. And then ofc you have distance blur that you should be allowed to change also.

If any dev ever read this...

Make it so!

Some times SOME blur and some bloom can be nice but 99.99% of the cases in game then both these settings they are like 10000% times stronger then one need.

Yes but I won't vote, the poll is flawed. I don't like over the top blur but it's obviously one of the great features of graphics evolution, right there with AA, blur is an amazing thing even when it's extremely subtle.

It was okay with something like Crysis, but I thought it was a bit annoying in Lost Planet. It annoyed in another game too, I just can't remember which one.

Edit: It was Mass Effect. :x

No. I'd rather enjoy better crisper graphics than rely on a trick to blur it all - feels like a coders way of cheating you out of picture quality - if they know it will all become a blur most of the time, then they don't need to bother making the textures as detailed in the first place.

I agree. Crysis's motion blur looks amazing (and it makes my game at 20 FPS feel soooo smooth!)

Generally yes, but it depends on the game. Source games and Crysis have nice motion blur.

When motion blur is applied to all on-screen movements all of the time, no matter how minor... that's when it looks terrible. STALKER's motion blur looks hilariously bad (perhaps that's why they made it so you have to force it through an ini file).

Of course I love it, so long as it's not intrusive (usually only obviously bad at sub 30fps or when it's just done wrong), smooths out the movements, 60fps is nice 'n all, but it's not nearly high enough for natural motion blur to occur.

Yes i like motion blur especially object motion blur games like in crysis really adds that next dimension to games graphics but some games its to much and with no way to tone it down i have to turn it off.

The best motion blur is done in HD. Because graphics mpeg in HD uses superior codec, like Crysis. Crysis is good game, fast and good, with best motion blured.

Same here. I generally despise it, especially in console games. Thats because they use blur to hide the ugly graphics (Uncharted 2 and KZ2/3.) But Crysis did it right (Yet Crysis 2 couldn't do it right at all...)

There's motion blur in STALKER? I have Call Of Pripyat and Shadow of Chernobyl and even when I looked the ini's there wasn't any motion blur options.

It gives some realism to the graphics, But it must be executed right, as some devs fail to do that and it just looks like garbage

When you can control the level of blur its good. I love the blur in crysis and Metro 2033. They make the game look great, But i hate when its overdone

I only like it when I can control it entirely. Crysis series is a good example. A bad example would be Fable 3 on PC where I can turn it "off" (configuration file) but it still doesn't fully go away.

Some games make it pretty well..others not so much. Good examples of motion blur in games: Crysis, TW2.

I like it on a lot of games honestly...

Some games just do it horribly though, or they make it so potent that it takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

It depends completely on how it's done. I general I tend to dislike blur but in the situations where it's done well it can enhance the game experience. The Witcher 2 does a really good job with it use of blur for example.

Depends entirely on the game. When it's done well, I think it definitely enhances the experience. That's fairly rare though.

Yes.. Motion blur is a realistic effect you have with regular vision. I don't see why not have it, especially since it covers lower fps your computer may be having on a certain game.

Nope...I always turn it off. Kinda makes me nauseated when I turn quickly. I also usually turn off depth of field ( depending on game ) but Motion Blur is always off.
