Now, I don't want this to be seen as an advertisement, and I don't usually start new topics, but I thought this might be of interest to some users.

Direct2Drive is having a 50%-off sale on several games published by 2K (among others). The sale ends on May 31st.

Here's the link: http://www.direct2drive.com/staticpage.aspx?topic=2kdeals&camp=fplni

Games in the sale include Bioshock and Prey for $9.95 each, and Serious Sam II for $14.95.

don't worry about sounding like you're advertising. People love to know about this stuff. I guess D2D is trying to copy steam and we all win if they compete against eachother.

It was steam. Now every other digital service are doing it. You should go see gamersgate sales, they are pure win this week. Stalker: clear sky at 15$ yesterday :)

It was Impulse, as per their CEO, Brad Wardell. Steam just made the concept popular.

They had one a week or two ago...$5 for Chosen: Well of Souls and Spacehack. Granted these are games most people would consider crap but for me it was nice.

How are Serious Sam 1&2 anything more than $5??

None of these particular games interest me, or I already have them. Thanks for the heads up though.

Sweet. Maybe I'll finally pick up Colonization. Those are some great games there. Too bad I have quite a bit of them already. :P

When it comes to the quality of sales I think Steam is heading to the bottom of the barrel. Gamersgate almost always has an amazing sale going and lately D2D has been putting up these awesome week and weekend sales, bought GRAW 2 last week for $10. Impulse doesn't do them often anymore but when they do it's usually insane. Right now Steam has hit the bottom of my list when it comes to DD services in terms of price and reliability, it's good to see all this competition going around though.

I feel compelled to point out that their sale price of Pirates! is the normal price of it on Steam.

www.gogamer.com has some excellent sales as well. Currently L4D is $29 and Fallout 3 is $32. They aren't a digital distribution service though, sothe downside is that you have to wait for your games to arrive in the mail. You do get a physical copy/box though, so it isn't much of a downside imo.
