So with Deus Ex Human Revolution coming very soon, I was wondering who is goign to get it day one? Who has it preordered? Who is staying far away from the game? Who will get it later on?

From what I have heard and seen from people who tried the leaked beta, its amazing and way better then Deus Ex1 fans expected, also reviews ahve been good so far to.

So, how excited for this game are you all?

It does look pretty cool, but I'm strapped for cash at the moment and Diablo 3 is probably the only game that I'll be purchasing for full price in the next 6 months. Other than that I'm looking for bargains. :)

I think i'll buy it day one but im not sure. Will look at a few reviews first, and as long as my hype doesn't die down. Whenever i buy a game without hype i can't get into it, like Killzone 3 i was excited for but i played the beta and thought eh, decided to buy it and pretty much hated it. Where as Fallout 3 i enjoyed for a much longer time, even though i didn't like a lot of the game i had the hype to pull me through.

I've seen nothing so far that would get my gears going. I'm sure it's a decent enough game, with nods here and there to the original.

OTOH, if Warren Spector were to announce a return to this franchise.....

Everyone's and most of the reviewers saying it's legendary. But I played it and thought it's not good as they exaggerated. Alternate ways not as much as the original Deus Ex. And they shoving the available ones into your eye just too much. But that doesn't means it'sa bad game. Worth 80 not 94 imho.

Not buying any games for the next two months, as november is the biggest month for gaming this whole year (imo), so I'm saving my money until then. Also, it'll come up in the steam christmas sales... Games I will be buying are - The Old Republic, Saints Row : The Third, Need for speed : The Run. I'm mainly getting these instead, as I can't see them going down in price, so why wait?

Day 1, loved the gameplay and the purity trailer (that trailer actually made me want to buy it, ironically it isn't even related to the actual game), but I doubt I'll play it for a while even if the story seems so interesting, I have a lot of games I need to play, Witcher 2 and Alice being the top two and I won't do that soon, WoW is entertaining enough currently.

True... as did I. But alot of people who loved Deus Ex1 and hated Deus Ex2 are loving the leaked beat for this new one, saying it has alot in common with the first game.

I will end up getting it, not at launch and probably not at full price. (I will more than likely wait on a good sale, there are plenty other games out now to hold me over till then)

I've already got it preordered. It only cost me $26, and since I've played the leaked beta it was a no brainer. The game is as good as the original, anyone who has played the beta can tell you that. Unlike most pre-launch hype for games, the hype for DEHR is based on the fact that most of the people hyping it have, in fact, already played a significant amount of it. I'd say that the only other games that could possibly prevent DEHR from taking GOTY are Witcher 2 and BF3 (which will most likely take GOTY because big name FPS games almost always win GOTY).

I'm interested in it but I probably wont ever try it out until it drops in price or goes on sale. I bought Deus Ex on a Steam sale not too long ago but I haven't even been able to finish the first level.. I normally don't mind old games but I just can't get into it when there are so many other things to play.

I already preordered it, what the hell, you know? It looks good enough, and Deus Ex 1 and 2 combined were some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The gameplay in DX1 was better of course, but I really liked the story and characters from IW. I'm willing to give this game a release-day chance.

I pre-ordered on Green Man Gaming a while back when I came across a 20% discount code. So even if the game ends up somewhat underwhelming, I didn't buy it a full price :)

Bought it on GMG already for $30. Now, they just need to release the Steam codes, and I am good.

I didn't like Deus Ex so I'm going to hold off for a Giantbomb Quicklook or something along those lines to see exactly how different it is.

The Run will be garbage, gameplay confirmed it, even if going down in price will be slow (doubt it) it certainly wouldn't be worth it until it reaches dirt price.

I think Deus Ex: Human Revolution is going to be better than the original, and this coming from someone who really, really loved the original Deus Ex. I'm not going to be one of those people who says... just because Spector isn't working on this one, it can't be as good, if not better. I predict it will be better, nostalgia set aside and all.

The original Deus Ex, I played about a month ago, and was absolutely enthralled and encapsulated by the story and the game design, I originally bought it a year ago at a steam sale, but dismisssed it on the fact of the graphics, then I gave it a chance and OH MY GOD.

Im in the process of playing invisible war right now but its very clunky compared to the old game and is taking a while for me to get engrossed in the story.

Human Revolution, looks like an entirely different beast right now and I'll say I will have to wait for until the holiday season to purchase the game.

But in short yes, I will buy it.

Unless they really screw it up im thinking this game will be better than the original. A lot of people have so much nostalgia for the original that they think this game can't be better. I enjoyed the first and am playing the nameless mod atm but i find it hard to get over the combat and ugly models. I try my hardest to avoid all combat but sometimes i just don't see another option (even if there is one) and i like to shoot people every now and then. I think HR will be better in those categories which will help me enjoy the game more.

Yeh same, I have the STALKER series I'm trying to play through. After I finish that up I have E.Y.E DC...By that time I imagine RAGE, TESV and BF:3 will be out so, make that much later. Unless it's on steam for cheap between now and when ever then is I don't plan on getting it ASAP.

yes, but there are some good vids on youtube detailing how they essentially admit they fracked up, and the lessons they learned from it. I admire that quality in people, to admit mistakes and learn from it. If it takes a bad game to get these folks to make DX3 the best, I think it'd be worthwhile.

Here are the videos

Part 1 (about Deus Ex)

Part 2 (about Invisible War)

Theyre good videos to watch, both in general game developing, and for Deus Ex

I will be getting it for sure! Never played the first because I hate really really old graphics (yeah I am a bit of a graphics whore on PC what you gonna do bout it!)
