this sounds odd indeed... first off... whatis your specs?
2nd, tryied reinstalling? might be a bad install...
yea i reinstalled it again stayed up all night, i noticed if i clicked on verify integrity of game cache it redoes the 5 steps for the first time startup i think its skipping something there, i dunno how to fix it tho, here is my dxdiaog Machine name: G-4C96094426194 Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp.080413-2111) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC. whats your GPU? I can't find it here
the bolded thing is also a problem, since these old AMD processors don't supprot some kind of multithreading (or something in that way), which DoW2 needs in order to run
so yeah, you will needs a new CPU and probably GPU
you realy should have tried the demo before buying the game
yea didnt work, what do u suggest getting a whole new computer that is more up to date or just getting a upgraded card or w/e?Dissimulation
looking at your specc I would go with new comp, your motherboard is probably outdated too and you would have to change so many things you might aswell buy a new pc
but better ask the people one forum down, they know more about this stuff than i do^^
Your motherboard is very close to the one I had about 3 years ago - it supports AGP. (I had the A7V8X-X - VIA chipset)
TigerDirect.com (I can't put the link) has 3 decent AGP cards that will work with the game, if you have the money. I'd recommend either the X1950 or the 7800 GS, but the 6800 Ultra would also be good.
These cards support Shader Model 3.0 (which is pretty-much standard in any current game), and should meet just about any minimum spec (maybe recommended) for a lot of games out there.
A new video card, and some more RAM would get you by for a little while longer - depending on what game you're wanting to run.
I would highly reccomend browsing these 2 sites, picking out the parts and building it yourself. Going through a company like..HP or Gateway will just get you screwed, as far as money goes.

Not hard really. I built my first computer in...2006 with no training or schooling.(of course dont discount the posts above mine, simply upping your cpu/gpu/ram would help)
I wish you good luck my friend!
The Only option could be that your computer isn't compatible with the Game or you DVD Drive isn't fast enough.
Will a WII HD wire, work with a SNES console, because they are all ment to have the same output wire.
Hey i recently brought Dawn of War 2, but i can't even get close to installing it on my laptop. It's a Macbook pro 15inch. I've looked all over to find an 'understandable' answer as to how to get it to install. However, i have read so many comments about how people have got it to play fine using Crossover or Parallel or bootcamp. None of which have got me any closer to my initial goal of installing it. I have a steam account and that didnt change anything. Can anyone help? Please! It's killing me not being able to play this game!!
