we know what the crysis 2 minimums are.. time for the recommendeds and maximums

and heres thosre minimums again made a little more clear:

cpu: athalon 64 x2/core 2 duo 2.0ghz or better

2gb ram

nvidia gf 8800gt/ ati hd 3850

windows xp or better running directx 9.0c

this is for stable play (+30 fps) on medium at 1024 x 768

to play crysis 2 on high one needs (at 1680 x 1050) :

recommended:

intel: core 2 duo 2.66ghz or better

amd: athalon 64 x2 2.66ghz or better

3gb ram

amd: ati radeon hd 4870

nvidia: nvidia geforce gtx 280

windows xp or greater running directx 9.0c

now for the more adventurous type out there here is what crytek recommended for maxing the game out at 1920 x 1200

intel: core i7 3.0ghz or better

amd phenom II x6 3.0ghz or better

4gb ram

amd: ati radeon hd 4870x2

nvidia: geforce gtx 560ti

windows 7/server 2008 environment running directx 11.0

resolution of 1920 x 1200

those all ensure stable play with 30+ fps

I'm so glad I'm building another rig to run that maxed out...

I can do 1680 x 1050 most likely with my current rig.

Yay, I can run it maxed out. Sounds like it'll probably run better than metro 2033 too.

My ram, video card and everything meets the requirement but my pc has the Intel i7 860 at 2.80 ghz. Hopefully I can still run the game at max though I doubt it :(

So, a 460 should be able to max 1440x900, right?

This list was published and retracted by a site a couple of days ago.

Until Crytek comes out and announces the requirements there's no point in discussing anything. Especially when the "highly recommended" section doesn't make any sense (why did you cut the GPU memory parts lol?)

your right the 4870x2 doesnt fit in there but we may cough it up to error or google translate just sucking at its job.

also considering your are from the beta their just as bad.. the bet has absolutely no ahrdware support or directx support.. its a shell of crysis 2

If it's less demanding than Crysis Warhead, I should be able to max it out without a problem. But I don't take these recommended listings seriously.

Hopefully that article is wrong and Crytek does give out the real maximun settings where my cpu is able to run the gameat max.

Eh? at 1440x900... a 460 (considering OC) is gonna destroy say a 560 TI at 1920x1080...

1,296,000 pixels vs 2,073,600 vs a Video card 10-15% slower then a 560ti. Yeah.. a gtx 460 (considering Oc) will easily be able to max if rest of hardware is very nice considering the system recommendations.

The 4870x2 doesn't support DX 11 so i'm not sure whats going on there

other than that they seem really reasonable, assuming those are accurate. I'm in between the recommended for high and max. It looks like it will be optimized for Core 2 Duos which is nice.

IMO it would be naive to expect lower requirements (even more minimum requirements) for a sequel that is supposed to look better than the predecessor.

Good news I think. The beta is surely unpolished then cuz I was getting like 20-30fps on high at 1680x1050 with a 4890, 4gigs of ram and a phenom 2 3.4ghz quad

I agree. I never thought for once that it would be less demanding, as I expect Crytek to always improve going forward. So if people want better graphics and a better Crysis game, it should be just as demanding as its predecessor if not more. People shouldn't be complaining about requirements when it comes to Crysis games. You should already know what you're getting into. With that said, I welcome a demanding Crysis 2. The original Crysis gave many of us a reason to upgrade or build new rigs. It got us excited about PC hardware and gaming again. We could use a surge like that. I'm ready. Bring it.

less demanding at equal settings, most likely. new high > old high, so new high requirements > old high requirements.

Is this supposed to be better optimized for ATI or something? GTX 260 should compare to the 4870, not the 280.

Same here. It feels so....good. lol

I'm still excited that I can run Crysis 1 and Warhead at max. It still amazes me every time I play. I guess that's what happens when you come from a 6800gs and a single core AMD Athlon 64.

So much for a low-graphic console port....FelipeInside
It better look pretty damn good then because those requirements are insane. "wait what?" Crysis 1 has bigger levels and clearly lower requirements with better graphics. So crysis 2 better look like a significant step up from crysis 1. As i see, quad cores dont do much this time around either.
an 8800GT minumum? I thought they said Crysis 2 would be less demanding...SF_KiLLaMaN
That too. The first game run very well with 8800GTX, now you need a freaking 280? Oh well, i guess xp will run better due to dx9.

So, a 460 should be able to max 1440x900, right?
