It would crash randomly it seems. Sometimes it would run for hours without crashing and other times would crash after 10 minutes after starting up. It looks like this when it crashes.

Note this is not my computer but it does look the same

My Rig:

VistaUltimate64

2.8 GHZ Core 2 Dou

Geforce 9800 GTX+

Requirement 450 Watt, 24 amps 12v+

2 GB ram

PSU: 550 (25 amps 12v+)

That... I think is very bad. The last time I saw something like that was when my 6800 video card died. It was just a few days out of warranty and there was no saving it. Never bought (and never will buy) another Leadtek product again.

But yours may not be about to die. There is the chance its an overheating issue. What kind of video card do you have and what kind of temps to you see at idle / load?

Mine doesn't look as bad but it does look similar

Geforce 9800 GTX+ I heard that this video card can keep itself cool. Its brand new. I don't think it is overheating. Like I was just using my computer and it did not crash at all (1 and half hour). Not sure if it is is the issue since it crashed one time after a few minutes while most of the time I use it for hours with no issue.

Last time it happened was when I was playing Crysis warhead.

Could it be that the GPU is not getting enough power? I didn't do thewiringbut my PSU did not have a 6 pin. But I did have the adaptor. Not sure I'm I'm sharing some of the connectors with the GPU (By using splitters so I could plug both a Hard drive and the videocard into the PSU using the same 4 pin that comes out of the PSU). If my brother did do that would that be the reason?

Do you ever try updating your graphic card? I've the same gc 9800gtx+ as you. My computer used to crash randomly if I left my computer idle OR freeze while playing the warcraft 3 ONLY.. not other high-end games (isn't it strange) ... I can't figure it out till I update my gc to 182.06 version.. the previous version of updates had failed me too..

My pc is no longer crash after the update..

Yes, you should definitely update your graphics drivers, and keep them up to date. Newer drivers usually have a range of bug fixes and often can increase performance in some games, too.

The newest WHQL driver for a GeForce 9 series card is 182.08. Go here and pick your series and OS to get your new drivers.
