Best mmo...besides WoW

my friends and i are looking for a good mmo. we have been playing wow but it is boring now. just wondering what mmo you guys like the best besides wow.

Runescape or Silkroad, both free and incredible popular. If you're looking for better graphics then i recommend Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.

Well there are 2 choices... 3 depending on what kind of games you like:

World of warcraft

Warhammer

Eve online

Give Age of Conan a try. Trial accounts are abundant, and they've managed to fix many of the bugs which plagued the game at launch - or so i've heard >_>. DX10 implementation is also on the rise.

Warhammer online, I would try that, its great.

Runescape or Silkroad, both free and incredible popular. If you're looking for better graphics then i recommend Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures.

i know guild wars isnt a 'true' mmorpg or whatever, but its a really great game with a great pve

i've only played the trial for lotro but i had a great time with it, and if my comp and friends comps could run it at higher setting i would most likely get it cause i enjoy the lotro lore

Everquest II is pretty good as well at LOTRO. Vanguard si pretty decent also these days, as long as your focusing on solo pve play. You have a problem though. Once you've been exposed to the way blizzard has its zones setup, your sort of spoiled. When you go to games like everquest that instances everything, it feels very claustphobia.

don't get guild wars if u have windows, just the first level loading time takes and hour. Psychoman93

Personally, I find AoC quite enjoyable. Not only are the graphics top notch, but the melee combat is different and forces you to be involved in the combat versus just pressing 1, 2, 3, etc. Plus, the bugs from early in the game have pretty much been patched away, DirectX 10 is finally being implemented, and the next big patch is doing a lot in the way of changing itemization and the classes.

Edit: However, I feel I should mention that I'm a pretty casual player, haven't yet reached end game (so not sure how good or bad it might be), and play on a PvE server. So keep in mind that the PvP aspect isn't too known to me.

i would say age of conan. its a totally new game! just download the 7 day trail and you will see for yourself

Eve Online. It's a great game if you can get into it.

I'd strongly recommend waiting for Aion!!

I'd have to say Guild Wars or SilkRoad. In silkroad not much questing is availible but it can be really fun if your not on it all the time. GuildWars is great but it can get very difficult. I won't tell you when cause thats a spoiler.

Personally, right now I'm playing EVE and CoH because I'm so tired with all the fantasy MMOs.

Eve has an awesome community, but it has a very steep learning curve.

CoH is fun, but if you treat it like a job, you will get bored quickly. More casual.

I'm just waiting until Star Wars Old Republic comes out

Eve online is awesome,or would have been if u got into it 5 yrs ago- tho as prev posted a very steep learning curve, and perhaps the fact that the game is years old now with so many expansions, new players are at a deffinate dissadvantage (no matter what ccp says)

ffxi is a good rpg, tho i quit that in the end due to lack of easy to get party's (hours of waiting) and the gold farmers camping the good spots.

WAR, personaly i found it to be a PvP version of WoW, grind, grind, grind...

roll on diablo 3..
