Flight Simulator X can look awesome with some mods. But, as for actual fighter jet games... I haven't played any in years, but back in the late nineties I played the hell out of European Air War and Falcon 4.0, both by Microprose, from 1998. Awesome games, with very surprisingly good graphics for their time. Also, I haven't played them myself in years and years, but I've heard that they both have (or at least had) very active modding communities, who made a lot of big visual enhancements for them over the years.

i don't even like jets but you can just feel the skills radiating from tjun's jet videos
get's all intense at this part

yean but that game isnt very on terms with a real air combat game. the problem is that the mechanics of the plane are pretty much entirely wrong. and as a result they operate much different from basically every other pure air combat game.bf3 jets apparently

I'm not sure what he is looking for other than good graphics because he mentioned Hawx which is arcade, and Flight Sim X, which is all sim.[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]

lol sorry they couldnt make them full on simulators? lolHawx and battlefield 3 are the most popular dumb flight combat games.

[QUOTE="alan_carter"]lol sorry they couldnt make them full on simulators? lol lol naw, i don't mean them to be realistic, i mean they even fail in their arcade flight combat aspect.Hawx and battlefield 3 are the most popular dumb flight combat games.

I don't think anyone ever bought Flight Simulator X for its graphics. But, it is very customizable and depicts weather flight conditions very well.
Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 imo.
It's a "hardcore" sim tho, so you need a flight stick and *lots* of patience. (also the will to learn and improve)
[QUOTE="Gamesterpheonix"][QUOTE="alan_carter"]lol sorry they couldnt make them full on simulators? lol lol naw, i don't mean them to be realistic, i mean they even fail in their arcade flight combat aspect. lol ah. I mean, ya I guess you're right. I dont really like flying with the jets but do really like the helicopter combat in the game - can be quite satisfying. I think the jet combat is only good with a joystick though and going between a joystick and keyboard for air and ground combat is too cumbersome. Also...wtf is that in your sig. lol.Hawx and battlefield 3 are the most popular dumb flight combat games.

it's cool to see just how good people can get and which synthetics translate directly into gameplay, I think this is http://aim400kg.ru/train/?a=fa_mass&ln=en I get 63s, which puts me 36 on the leaderboard.
but yeah this
http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime/
one of my ql friends in the navy has 140ms reacitons, shiiii
i definitely play different against him vs other duelers.
also i am def not the only one who talks about this stuff
http://www.esreality.com/
but yeah bf3 jets are cool, I think anyone who likes jets would like them. It probably takes a lot of the same types of skills a real jet pilot would want. Just executed in a different way.
Why do you include competitiviness in everything you write, how do u measure ur reaction time, with that click when it's green mini game? :P[QUOTE="alan_carter"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]complaining on the realism?
BF3 jet df from what zubin tells me who sends me jet videos nonstop, is that a better jet player will win 99% of the time.
There is no luck involved. It's heavily reaction based too, hence why even though zubin who is in the top 2% w/ reactions of 160ms can't beat tjun.
He is really good at it too, he sends me these videos nonstop, bf3 jets take a lot of skill just watching them. I couldn't be that good, my reactions are only in the 10-20%th percentile.
My gamestyle isn't reaction heavy, even though in BF3 pubs I feel like I'm in the matrix since BF3 pubbers have like 300ms+ reaction times lol.JigglyWiggly_

240ms, guess i suck :(well, average is 240-260ms according to their new data
the site says 215ms, but that's based on their early data in which I'm going to guess that people who were concerned with their reaction time have faster reaction times.
Now more people are actually doing it, so it's probably more accurate. In my experience, the average person is not 215ms.
here's what ~100-120ms reaction times look like

but even in my videos(i'm in 190ms), in pubs you can just see I react faster than all of them(see who shoots first). Though my specialty is def not reactions, it's aim, predictive aim and very good movement.
I guess the average on a reaction time tester will always be better than a true average because only people who actually care about reaction time would use it. Average is probably 300mswell, average is 240-260ms according to their new data
