Hello

I am going to buy a 1920X1080p VA monitor to play video games with a Xbox One S. Of course, I will also use it with my laptop but that's not the point.

I am afraid that a large screen (27" and above) would result in a low pixel density at this resolution. Actually, I don't know whether I should buy a 24 or a 27" monitor. What do you think?

Thanks

@hextorbrx: Moved to Hardware forum

24' is more suitable for 1080p.

27" or under is fine for 1080p.

24" is probably the highest I would go for 1080P. For 27" I think 1440P or maybe 4K is suitable.

Wouldn't go with 4K at 27' - nothing less than 50'.

You could even go 1080p for 32' but it wouldn't be as crisp as using 24' monitor.

Wowow...hold on a second there. 50" on a desktop to play games up close? That might be a bit too big to put on a desktop to play games. I have a 60" Plasma for gaming on my HTPC and it's huge. Putting that on a desktop to play games would be too big. I actually know someone at work who has a 27" 4K for PC Gaming with a GTX 1080. While I do think 27" might be too small size for 4K that's why I also mentioned 1440P which I think is more ideal.

No one told you to game on 50' at 1 meter away, going below 50' when it's 55'+ recommended is a pure waste of money.

My rule is, if I have to actually turn my head to follow the cursor from edge to edge, the screen is too big/ too close.

I dropped from a 25.5” to a 24” 1080p screen, because the 25.5” was slightly too big when placed right in front of me.
