Hello,

I am looking at building a mini itx system for the living room to game on the big screen TV.

But I am torn on the choice of case.

What about the RVZ02/ML08 vs the Node 202?

From what I can tell, the RVZ02 is totally passive. No intake or exhaust fans.

But has a chamber separation between the GPU chamber and the Board and PSU chamber.

The Node 202 can take 2 slim 120mm fans as inatke on the GPU side.

But the inside of the case is more open and the gpu is not separated from the rest of the system like on the RVZ02.

With this in mind, what would be better for cooling?

I would use a blower GPU and the cpu cooler would probably be a big shuriken 2.

Cheers!

@gdourado07: Those are HTTPCs not mini ITXs.

Think more about Sharkoon C10 - those kind of mini ITX cases can store full length GPUs and even water cooling

Yes, I am looking at this specific form factor because I am looking at building a console like pc.

That's why I shortlisted to these two models.

I'd go with the RVZ02 if cooling is going to be that big of a deal for you. My only problem with the RVZ02 is that it looks too awkward to put in horizontal position. I own a RVZ03 but I haven't actually used it yet. If you're not that good at cable management the RVZ02 may be a better choice due to its chambers. Also a blower style GPU may work better in it since the chamber creates more air flow restrictions and separates it more from the heat generated from other parts.

I used a Node 202. It's quite a little beast with a GTX 1060 6GB.

No case fans, just the CPU heat sink fan (Noctua low profile), the GPU fan and the PSU fan. Runs fine with no extra cooling. The GPU reaches its temp limit at full load, but it's still way quieter than a console. The 1060 is a small form factor EVGA with only 1 fan. It just exhausts out the vent in the GPU chamber.

The RVZ02 looks like it'll do a fine job as well. Just go with the one you think looks the best.
