So I moved my hardware to a new case and it does boot for around 30 seconds (no BIOS screen or anything, just blank monitor with no signal) and then it shuts down and booting again.

Everything is connected, all fans work but no respond.

Anyone got suggestion?

Double check all power connections, make sure the gpu is seated into slot fully. If everything there checks , clear the CMOS by pulling the the battery for a good minute (make sure pc is disconnected from power plug) you can also try using onboard video if you have any on cpu/motherboard.

@PredatorRules: well, the first things I try in case of no post are:

- remove all ram except for one stick, try another stick if still no post

- try an old video card that you know works

- are you sure the 12V line is plugged in? That is another possible cause. Also the gpu power cables could be loose.

- try a different psu if you have one

- remove your cmos battery, leave it out for a few minutes, cycle the power a few times, then put it back and try again

Unfortunately, the one and only time I had the symptoms you describe, ie: fans powering up, but no post and blank screen, it was a dead cpu. But since you probably don't have another cpu just laying around, I would rule out the above things first, since they're quick and easy.

Sounds like MB is shorting itself, did you place the risers correctly?

I tried onboard VGA, 24pin and CPU cables connected, I doubt my CPU was damaged because I moved the board with the water cooling intact, tried doing power discharge with CMOS. Will try removing RAM DIMMs

@urbangamez: What do you mean is power button ok? It starts by pressing on it...

It stopped restarting itself and the risers came with the case in place.

Doesn't mean that 1 couldn't be damaged when you moved it, or it became loose and fell out.

i mean the power button is damaged, so you press on it the power comes on but after a short time it shorts out/opens the circuit causing the pc to power off.

but that doesn't appear to be the problem in this case.

If the problems continues. Take the mobo out of the case and test it.

I had similar things happen on my new build. It was a RAM issue. I had to update the Bios to get it to let the RAM work with the motherboard. I had to boot with the updated bios so it would update.

None of the risers is damaged, I tried removing RAM dimms and it's not that.

Could the case power SW cable shorten the MOBO?

I will do so right now.

*Update on problem* - I've changed case and MOBO - looks like the CPU is dead. I'll either wait for Coffee Lake or buy a second hand 4690.

Static charge while swapping case? I didn't even remove the CPU cooler from it

Should not kill it off that quickly. Any defects on the CPU? Burn marks? Did you run a heavy overclock on it? Perhaps it was already dying and this was just what it needed to go.

Not from what I've seen, and no it's 4670 so I can't OC it.

I know it died 4 months after Warranty is off so Intel did a great job there... if you know what I mean

Was the cooler running? Did it come loose or something happen in transport?

It kind of sounds like it overheated very quickly for some reason. Which should not have killed your processor, but if the processor was already on its way out it might have. An improperly plugged in cable could do this as well, but..... i dont think it would for the processor... thats just weird.

Horgen suggests looking for something burnt, i do too but dont look for it. Smell it. Put your nose up to the board and smell around, you can always smell it, even if you cant see it or its harder to see. And honestly, i might not run that system until you figure out what the problem was.

*new update*

I think I know how my CPU died, Arctic Liquid Freezer 120 leakage, probably swapping board from one case to another while making pressure and bending those tubes released some cooling water on parts and it died.

So, my plans for getting 1080 Watercooled are off, I'm going to RMA that cooler and sell it to someone.

I will be ordering EVO212 since I do not OC, I think it'll be the best for me.

Dont they use an oil in those?

Its not a full radiator system right? Its simply a processor attachment w/a mini radiator.... i think they use mineral oil with those, or some do. You might want to check on that, if it was oil, that didnt do it.

If they'd use mineral oil - they would decline any damage to other parts due to leakage, which they don't.

Right, thats what i was seeing if you knew. I know some use mineral oil, but not all. I was unsure of that model.

But this looks like it was your problem = https://www.nikktech.com/main/articles/pc-hardware/cpu-cooling/liquid-cpu-coolers/6072-arctic-liquid-freezer-120-aio-liquid-cpu-cooler-review

Sucks dude, dead cpu is what I was afraid of.

At least you have a reasonable idea of how yours died, when it happened to me, it just died suddenly while using it. Wasn't overclocked or anything.

Hardware also dies before warranty expires out of the blue, it happens sometimes.

I got a 3570K that has been overclocked since day 1. Atm it is running 24/7 at 4.1GHz. I guess I got lucky :P
