[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]A lot of people hate it? Since when? Do we really need another Dark Knight thread? With that said I think it is one of the best films of the year.pygmahia5well, some of my friends thought it was kind of lame-ish. if theres one thing we can all agree on, it's that without Heath Ledger, that movie wouldn't have been as good as it is now. What do you mean we can all agree on that? For all any of us know it could have easilly been better or just as good.
[QUOTE="Pirate700"]I thought it was a really good movie that had a few too many corny "feel good" moments keeping it from being great. Power_47
Feel good moments, are your sure your watching the right movie?
Just off the top of my head, that lame ass seen on the boats...when the criminal threw the detonator into the ocean people in the theater literally stood up and cheered. Some were even reduced to tears of joy. It was sickeningly stupid.[QUOTE="Power_47"][QUOTE="Pirate700"]I thought it was a really good movie that had a few too many corny "feel good" moments keeping it from being great. Pirate700

How is that a "feel good moment"? :?The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that Batman didn't have the guts to kill the Joker. In the 1989 Batman, he tries to kill the Joker at all costs, blowing up his factory, shooting him with machine guns and missiles, anything to bury him. In The Dark Knight he almost kills himself trying not to run over the Joker with his batpod.
Well, that and the fact that the actress who plays Racheal Dawes in The Dark Knight is UGLY.
Heath Ledger is easily the best Joker to date, however. If he doesn't win the Oscar there is something seriously wrong with whoever makes that decision.

OK if you don't know what a feel good moment is WHY BOTHER TALKING ABOUT IT:|

Just because the boats didn't blow up doesn't mean it's a feel good moment. I think our definitions of a feel good moment are completely different..

No, YOUR definition is different, everyone else pretty much agrees...

Not really. I've heard a lot of people say that the film is "too dark". Sorry, but I never had a "feel good moment" when I was watching the film..[QUOTE="Trelaf_TheWise"][QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"] It certainly wasn't a feel good moment. I said in really dark or action packed movies there is always some form of relief from it.

Yeah. Just wait until the movie Blood Meridian (based on a book by Cormac McCarthy) comes out. Compared to that book, The Dark Knight is a comedy.
Obviously... I loved the Joker the most, but I also loved the Bat Pod, the action, the theme of the movie, Harvey Dent, etc. The only things I really hated was what they did that Lamborghini, Bale's Batman voice and Maggie Gyllenhal.JustPlainLucasWell it's a Lamborghini, nothing special.

I'm going to have to agree with most in this thread when I say its one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm not saying this becuase of the joker and how crazy the media got after his death but becuase it really has the attributes of a great movie. The story really captures each in it's own way and keeps all eyes focused on the screen for what will happen next at all points throughout the movie. Another great thing about this movie is that no matter how many times you've seen it, it's so entertaining that it's impossible to look away.
Give it a watch on blu ray. Makes a perfect movie even better.
