Would I require human blood?

Just embrace it but it won't get the best of me. I'll become a responsible vampire.

It would really depend on which vampire mythos we are talking about. If it's a Buffy/Angel, 30 Days of Night, Blade, etc style mythos where becoming a vampire means you turn into a bloodthirsty killer who will immediately start the murder spree with your former loved ones that's one thing. If it's more like an Anne Rice-ey or True Blood type mythos where who you are doesn't fundamentally change then it sounds more like an inconvienence than anything else.

I would make it an epidemic.

In my mind I gain immortality and immense strength, I'm the Dracula from Van Helsing but I burn in daylight like in Skyrim, I can get away with a few minutes or so.

I still need blood and will starve and become a savage beast who will kill out of desperation and end up killing family and friends so I'll play it smart, ensure I only kill the criminals, you know the thieves and scum. After that I'll go after the benefit bums and generally lesser human beings no one likes.

We prefer the term, "living impaired". Gosh.

In order to survive I would:

a) hang out in high crime areas and play games on my laptop until someone tried to mug me and then I would eat them.

b) hit up the local hospital and compel the doctors to give me access to their blood bank.

c)find a strange vampire worshipping cult on craigs list, I would meet them and tell them I will make them all vampires eventually if they let me feed off of them, of course I would not turn them to vampires but that would get me several years of free blood.

A silver bullet to your FOOT would save you.

If it's like the Vamp Diaries then I'd find myself surrounded by hotties all of sudden so I'll pick number 5.

I already like the taste of blood, I prefer the night and dislike sunlight, I think I'm half way already lol.

If I was infected by vampirism I'd just embrace it, no point bitching about the inevitable. Though I would be a hunter of the night, maybe turn a few people to hangout with. Whether I would kill people or take what I needed without killing I haven't decided.

Well I'd just avoid biting anyone to turn all the way, maybe get a few crazy tattoos, maybe bang a wizard and have a kid.

Tell my peeps that I'm turning and say my farwells. Once they all pass, I will have no reason to stay fixed in one location anymore, so I'll become a wandering vampire-ronin-bard. Come f*** with me now ghosts! No clue on how I'm gonna maintain the craving for blood though

I'd go buy some black clothes, and maybe a nice red coat and tie. Oh and a red hat.

Are we talking the sexy, human-like vampires that have infested films for the past few years? Then I'd do a combination of the options you listed:

-I would definitely tell my friends and family to steer clear of me for a long time. I'd then prepare some sort of subterranean shelter so I could sleep during the day; nothing fancy initially, just something to last for a while as I get more permanent solutions in order; hell, if I am like some of these other vampires, I won't even need to avoid the sun!
-I'd then make some long-term financial investments so my eternity spent wandering the earth is at least cozy and luxurious.
-Depending on how strong my thirst is (i.e. am I in control of it?), I would establish contact with humanity, and maybe even make a few thralls! Loyal beings to do my bidding while I go do vampire stuff is a big perk in my opinion.
-My ideal as a vampire is to somehow embrace nature, and protect it. A druid-vampire, if you will. So I might retire to some cabin in the woods, isolated but not too far from a town, maybe a ski resort town so I can feed on tourists and visitors while leaving the locals alone and maybe even enslaved to me. I'd look after my wilderness, punish hunters and loggers and litterers, and generally live a peaceful existence taking long walks through the wilderness. Every few decades, when I've amassed enough wealth, I'd pay off the authorities to leave the wilderness alone (state/national park grant, etc) and move on to a new, deserving territory.

Now, if we are talking Nosferatu/animal-vampire/no-control-over-self vampire, I would ask my best friend to kill me after making peace with everyone.

Honestly though I'd totally embrace vampirism if I still had self-control and my identity. It'd be tricky at first, especially when you get to age 60+ and people are like "Wait a minute...why do you still look 30?" You'd have to relocate often, fake your death, etc. unless you want to live COMPLETELY off the grid, which as a vampire is all but impossible as you need to feed, unless you can feed on animals. I don't see why you couldn't bleed a cow or deer or sheep dry instead of people.
