[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]I think they call it renting.RavensmashAre you comparing renting to piracy...? It's the same thing from the publishers POV.
Well I dunno what to say here, but one problem with games is that they sell it for me in Gaza with the same price they sell it in the US, despite the huge economical difference. If you catch my drift.GazaAliYes I understand I live in pakistan myself and it's pretty ridiculous how we dont get a price based on our economy and buying power, games keep getting expensive as the dollar keeps rising in relation to our currency.

that's odd. The EA games in Taiwan is actually cheaper than EA games in USA, same game except extra Chinese translations..
perhaps because they treat Taiwan as a market. But knowing Gaza, they don't really care to establish a market for us because of the little demand so I have to purchase games like Americans.Yes I understand I live in pakistan myself and it's pretty ridiculous how we dont get a price based on our economy and buying power, games keep getting expensive as the dollar keeps rising in relation to our currency. so you know, with the absence of any copyrights laws and all, life gets easier...[QUOTE="GazaAli"]Well I dunno what to say here, but one problem with games is that they sell it for me in Gaza with the same price they sell it in the US, despite the huge economical difference. Since I would like for games to continue being made, no I would not.xaossince you're paying and hence nothing threats the gaming industry, yes i would.

I'm pretty sure a business like Blockbuster has to pay a fee for the right to rent games out to customers, so no, it isn't the same thing from their POV.

They should ban Blockbuster and Gamefly if that's the case.
It's already coming into affect ever heard of "code vouchers".[QUOTE="Gambler_3"]Yes I understand I live in pakistan myself and it's pretty ridiculous how we dont get a price based on our economy and buying power, games keep getting expensive as the dollar keeps rising in relation to our currency. so you know, with the absence of any copyrights laws and all, life gets easier...Ya :P[QUOTE="GazaAli"]Well I dunno what to say here, but one problem with games is that they sell it for me in Gaza with the same price they sell it in the US, despite the huge economical difference. What country is that? Although I know that in some countries piracy is very open. In India I was walking down an entire district filled with piracy and police. It was virtually an open black market. In my country it is legal to pirate games...
Yet I dont pirate them. So the answer is no.

To demo games I'm not 100% on buying sure. If I did end up enjoying it, then I would buy the game though. Developers can't make games if they don't get paid.
no since you download them to your hardrive.id rather use that extra space for something worth while for the game i would pirate
Only if I didn't have the money for the games I want. So it would change nothing in my situation, except that I would get to enjoy more games.
And I guess I would try some games before buying.
I see no ethical conflict with doing things that way. They plunder my wallet to the extend I am willing to pay and I have maximum amount of fun. Do what you want as it harms none.
Sadly not everyone thinks that way, and some would just stop paying I guess.
I've never pirated a game before but have played a pirated game at a friends. If it was legal would you be able to play online then? So basically wouldn't developers just be giving out their games for free? If pirateing were legal their would be no reason to make games anymore. Would be such a tragic sequence of events.
