Her body, her choice. I have no room to judgedouble_decker
Wow that is absurd logic. So if I want to commit suicide by jumping out of an airplane in the middle of an elementary school playground filled with kids, thats fine because its my body? Think of the janitor...
To be honest i would lose respect for that person, obviously certain circumstances i would understand.
I've been gathering some statistics for you guys:
854,122 Abortions performed in the United States in 2003 (http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/ss5511a1.htm)
"In 2004-2005, 64,080 women were raped. According to medical reports, the incidence of pregnancy for one-time unprotected sexual intercourse is 5%. By applying the pregnancy rate to 64,080 women, RAINN estimates that there were 3,204 pregnancies as a result of rape during that period." (http://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-victims)
A study, in 1998, revealed that women reported the following reasons for choosing an abortion:
•25.5% Want to postpone childbearing
•21.3% Cannot afford a baby
•14.1% Has relationship problem or partner does not want pregnancy
•12.2% Too young; parent(s) or other(s) object to pregnancy
• 10.8% Having a child will disrupt education or job
• 7.9% Want no (more) children
• 3.3% Risk to fetal health
• 2.8% Risk to maternal health
• 2.1% Other

I wanna sig that. Although, I think a better example would have been, say, the suicide bomber who killed Bhuto.
[QUOTE="Jocubus"]That was 10 years ago.. I tried to find more recent data but thats the best I could get. The abortion rate hasn't changed much over the last 10 years so I doubt the reasons have either.A study, in 1998, revealed that women reported the following reasons for choosing an abortion

No now you're adding stuff on, If you want to commit suicide go ahead. But if you want to commit suicide in front of children, Just No. That's like you're saying that the person wants to have an abortion on a school lunch table in front of a bunch of children.
Would not give a crap unless they had more than one.FlaminDeath
Why would you care for one more? If they had an abortion once, what's the difference between just another?
I would lose some respect for them. I can't help but to see the would-be mother as a reckless hedonist and in the carless pursuit of her own pleasure she is willing to destroy what would eventually become a human being. I don't understand the responses that claim an abortion would be the responsible thing to do. Its more responsible to use contraceptives or abstinence than run the risk of needing an abortion.Jocubus
maybe we can give all pregnant women a time machine.
