Would you be willing to...

Live without technology being nearly as rampant as it is now, and live a simpler life if it mean't saving our planet's environment completely and living in a natural harmony with it? I'm not asking whether it's feasible for our society, I'm just wondering if you'd be willing to give up the "luxuries" that technology provides us, if it meant having a prosperous environment that we would no longer be destroying.

I wouldn't want to live without cars but for a lot of stuff, yeah I'd live. I think we would adjust faster that some people think.

Well, if "God" really wants to help save us from ourselves, and give us a chance, it'd do well to destroy our technology. I'm thinking a super solar storm would do the trick for most of the world's power grid. At least we couldn't destroy ourselves with bombs, though society would still likely crumble :P.

We wont do any permanent damage of course, but we're doing enough lasting damage that could greatly affect our ability to inhabit the planet in the future.

Yeah, it's sad how much future generations will look back on us and hate how reckless we were with our only home and the only place we know of to support our sorry ass lives. If there are future generations that is.

If there was any sort of choice than no definately not but if I had to than yeah i could give it up

nope. and i don't think we've every really "lived in harmony" with nature.. for the majority of our history nature has pretty much beat the crap out of us. as soon as we started chopping down trees and building huts we pretty much stopped living in harmony with nature.comp_atkins

No. IMO there's no place for extremes. I think we should invest in sustainable and environmental friendly technologies. The best of both worlds.

I would prefer to maximise my technology, then when I reach other planets I can preserve their environment.

no because its not realistic and because much like the treaty after world war 1 where we all agreed to only have so much military certain countries secretly built up a larger military. the same thing will happen if we did this and much like our dis arming of nukes other countries arent going to comply. its suicide wishful thinking is what it is.kayoticdreamz

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a massive solar flare taking out our power grids and destroying our satellites. It could just be "God's" way of ensuring we can't destroy ourselves with the push of a button anymore. i rather not since technology is ever thing man made. though without computers and cars and stuff yeah i could as long as i have food.

Luxuries: I wouldn't, as much as I try and be kind to the environment I've grown accustomed to a certain lifestyle. If I had to I'm sure I could, but given the option, then no.

All technology: It'd be extremely difficult to do so. The average person uses so much technology every single day, and are almost dependant on it.
