Why doesn't the Final Fantasy series ever make sense?

I have tried to understand what the story was behind the series when it came out for the PS2, but I still did not understand it. Cant Square Enix just make a solid story? Or is it to hard to stick to a story?

There is no continuing story maybe that's why you havent been able to link them and such-each one has its on unique story with recurring themes and such.

FFX was the only one I didnt understand. The bibt with the wall later on in the game made no sense to me.Big_Bad_Sad

All the main series games are not related (aside from the recurring character names, like Cid). It probably helps to know this when trying to understand the stories.

They have to change the series in every FF. Otherwise, it would get kinda boring.:(
