[QUOTE="Joshywaa"]Both terms are acceptable....there is no "wrong" between persian and iranian...

Actually just being persian/iranian is wrong. Towel heads should be shot on sight.
If they had towels for heads then how would they walk outside in the rain? Your logic is dumb and your comment......racist.

Don't worry, he's been reported :)
Back on topic - Iranian's still call themselves Persian because that is what that region used to be called in ancient times. Its not an incorrect thing to do, but its simply an interchangeable word that describes a person's origin from the same place :)
I hope that made sense :lol:
I dunno for sure, but I'd think it's because there's a lot of anti-mid-eastern sentiment going around.
No one wants to be associated with the "Axis of exil" lol
[QUOTE="dante_123456"]Persian=sounds bad ass
Iranian=not so much...

I have to agree.
Pre-Islamic Persia was so god damn cool.
Pro-Islamic Iran...not so much...
yeah, the Prince of Persia trilogy probably has something to do with my opinion on the subject :P
I've always wondered this, too. I have a few good Iranian friends, and they call themselves Persian. I refuse to call them Persian, and try to explain to them that the empire has been dead for a long time, but I think they just like the way it sounds.murlow12
Persian is a culture, Iranian is a nationality.

Funny, my friends aren't aware of that. Like I said, I think they just like the way it sounds.Please Log In to post.
