We grew up on cartoons, grew out of them because we heard "cartoons are for children" never hearing about anime until that thought is firmly in your head. At that point, they hear about anime, but it's like cartoons for adults, therefore they think it's weird.
I grew out of that mind set. And found alternate means of getting anime, subbed.
Like seriously, I get flamed to hell and back because I chose to cosplay. It's like, normal cartoons are perfectly fine, but once they become japanese and you throw in a storyline, oh noes! It's EVIL. People are closeminded, and that's that. They just need to grow up.
i don't think anime is weird, but i don't enjoy it. i used to like anime, i still do; the good stuff from the 80s & 90s where it had detail. but this new anime style where everything is just one tone really doesn't please my eyes the way the old anime shows did. & the story/plot/setting in a lot of the newer anime shows feels very generic or recycled to me.

Some anime's are good. Some of them aren't. I can't understand why anyone would find it weird. I mean....it's a serie (like prison break), but the only difference is that it's animated. It's usually funny too. Things can be done in anime that can't be done in real life.

blood+ isn't THAT great. it's well drawn, and the story is ok, but there are better. I've seen the WHOLE series, and it has amazing action, story, and well.. I'll just leave it at that. I saw my eps on Youtube, the cheaters way:D

YES IT IS! I have watched it only once. Most horrible choice I've ever made. If you would look at my face after seeing that, you'd see a 'wtf' expression. The woman was acting like she was....aah nevermind. But the guy had the biggest sexy time explosion of the world XD! I mean wtf! I will never watch it again. But, this is just my opinion. I'm not going to say anything to anyone who likes hentai. I don't care. Watch it if you want.

I agree with it somewhat. I hate it when Japanophiles go nutz on me for preferring to watch anime dubbed instead of subbed because I don't like Japanese voice actors. Bad enough I can't understand it, but it makes it worse the voices are so squeaky. I like anime more because I think the storylines and artists are better than ours. Manga on the other hand..I rather read a comic book or another graphic novel from the states.Â
