about 5 years ago I could get a mortar kit for only 60$, now its 499$. Even the small fireworks that do nothing much cost 20$. Why does powder cost so much?!? fireworks is basically a piece of cardboard and some powder.

If something explodes its gonna cost alot of money...
Plus I'll pay whatever it costs for bottle-rockets.....to much fun.
everything fun is expensive, video games, driving, fireworks, prostitutes. you just have to get used to itFUBAR24
I agree, I live in CO and I'm not sure if sparklers are legal anymore. My cousin spent $700 on fireworks last year from out of state. Nothing good here worth buying but my gf has some connections on her rez in Wyoming.

ya try strapping a pack of fire crackers to a bottle rocket, it goes up about 15 feet then falls and explodes, i have the scars to prove it

 We were playing with bottle rockets a while back and my friend had one shot at his face and it exploded. He was alright but it was something to laugh about later.

Maybe states put heavy taxes on them to discourage their use.Dark__Link
That sure worked for cigarettes and booze.

Someone said something he could buy for $60 jumped to $500. Now if the government imposed a $440 tax on cigarettes and alcohol, do you still think it wouldn't work?
