Why Block your profile ?

I know it's valid and all but i just wonder why people block their profiles to private ? I mean this is a game site right ? What can you possibly be talking about on your profile to make it so private ? Is it just me or does anyone else wonder ? I'm just saying it's an option but i want to share my game stuff stories and all right, i need opinions on certain games and stuff.

I didn't even know you could do that, meh..I don't have anything to hide..I want people to know about me.

To each their own I suppose. I personally see no harm in having an open profile.-Fromage-

Because the Profile rules are way too lax - It burns me up that we have people posting game reviews (with zero games in their collection), do nothing but troll PC Games forum, etc.

And GS needs to change alt accounts to a staff-only option. This will eliminate the ban-dodger problem.

I was gave somebody called PSjohn I think it was an answer he had no argument for so he resorted to trowling through my old posts and reporting every petty mistake possible, which ofcourse the mods just modded rather than look at whether something over a year old which didn't merit any action then deserved it now. Since then I keep it on private :).

Because random trackers are annoying as hell, and anything to reduce them is a positive thing. Darth-Caedus

No, not if the other person is still tracking you.

What I mean by "empty" is no games list, no blogs, nothing for myself to make a rational decision as to whether or not I have anything in common with a person which would merit a track back.

With close to 100 friends, I don't want anyone with a blank profile possibly coming in and trolling or bothering my friends.:)

I got like 130 and get about 6 or 7 comments on each blog. Makes sense...

My profile is open now but the only time I used to lock it was when I post pictures of myself. I did that because I believe it stops it from having any chance of showing up on google images. I don't have much on my blog anymore so it's no big deal. I don't know if or when i'll ever do something interesting with it.
