Why are some gamers and non gamers obsessed with gamer girls?

i'm pretty sure the ot crowd is not quite as picky as you think they are.

is it a girl that  might possibly give us the time of day?

I don't understand either. If I go to a Twitch stream and some girl has her webcam taking up 50% of the screen, I immediately exit and search for another stream.

Because she will play them with me.  And because I am not a big fan of sports (at least not football, basketball and so on) other than snowboarding, biking and such, so if she is more of a gamer and not so much into sports, its a win win.

I have had buddies date "gamer girls". Each time the girls turned out to be huge ***** who cheated and ruined the relationship.....

Well, there is something to be said to have similar hobbies, to make a relationship work better.

Gamers tend to like gamer girls, Sports Jocks tend to like sports girls and so on (well not exclusively, everyone can find good things in most people, it is just a really general sense here).

Sadly Gamer girl have been labelled as: easy and desperate, which may want none gamers to find gamer girls, this is not true in my experience. basicly just as many females as males game in the country I live in more or less. it is as normal a pasttime as watching tv for the younger population.

Iam not obsessed, but its a nice bonus if they are intrested in them. There are all types of gamers these days, gamers arnt a bunch of school nerds any longer.

"Gamer girls" are insufferable but girls who play games are just like any other girl.

I'd prefer someone who shares my interests. I couldn't care less about the world of sport.

I've never understood the desire to game with other people around, after all the madness you run into on xbox live, it's that just in person. I'm a girl that games and people tend to try to make too much out of it. It's just a hobby that I pick up and put down, to me at least. I haven't run into the obsessiveness though, when i've dated other women I tend to be the only gamer between us. So I haven't had to face the letting the other person win to save their ego. 

Because they can dip it low and pick it up slow and then move on to playing WoW.

honestly playing games with girls has always been a lame experience for me. i'd rathaer play games with dudes.

I ask because it is attention from GUYS that you get if you happen to be a gamer with boobs, not attention from women.

Beleive me, if some girl goes around calling herself a gamer, all of a sudden the nerdy guys will be all over her. It is kind of sad really....

I'd rather have a girl into different hobbies than my own. Interest and support is great, but doing everything together can be detrimental. Of course, every relationship is different. If some enjoy that, more power to them. Don't get the obsession though, it's a turn off to me. On a friend level it's obviously a different story, gender shouldn't determine hobbies, especially one as broad as gaming.

Why not get a chick that is into games and sports?

I would be at a loss for the most part if a girl started talking sports. The only sport I follow is college football. However, if a girl started talking games or music, I could probably get into that!

I don't get it either. Females make up half the gaming community now. It's not a male dominated hobby anymore.
