I know this will probably be the most popular answer, but I really loved Heath Ledger's. Even if he didn't pass away, I'd still love his character the most. Jack Nicholson's comes in a close second.

Mark Hamill. His Joker, besides having the perfect voice, is just the right mix of crazy and funny. He's the only one who actually makes me laugh.

Heath's. His joker was deliciously unsettling.

I have to go with Heath Ledger's. He made the Joker dark and not comedic but he did give him a twisted psychotic sense of humor. Other jokers were cartoon-like to me. Ledger's Joker seemed "real".

As much as I liked Nicholson's, Heath Ledger really nailed it.

Oh yeah I agree there were moments. Like when he dropped the girl out the window....forget what he said now but it make me laugh...but that's what I meant by twisted psychotic. Not cartoon-like.

I liked that "realistic" vision of Joker more than Ledger's. Much less nihilistic preaching, much more funhouse mayhem.:P

Ledger definitely felt like the actual concept of Joker. What he was meant to be. So I'm gonna have to go with him...

Hmm well I don't think any actors/versions of the joker have been spot on to the iconic comic book persona's. I find Ledgers joke to be the best but my personal favorite is Hamill.

Well he did a good job...but I still liked the dark Joker of Ledger. Plus...he reminded a bit of The Crow.

Heath Ledger was brilliant, but Mark Hamill's voice is.... truly haunting. Heath Ledger's Joker is great in the fact it fits in what Nolan tries to do with his interpretation, but when it comes to who's more Joker, Mark Hamill's voice is just more... Joker. It's not really fair to compare "who's better" since they are all trying to portray different Jokers, but Mark Hamill's Joker, I think, stays true to what comic book Joker is about.

hamil, arkham asylum was awesome, and i loved the cartoon as a kid. Jacks was pretty good, and Ledgers was disturbingly good, but i pick hamil because thats how i imagine the joker was first thought of.
