I would have to say either Between The Buried And Me or The Dillinger Escape Plan. Although their first full studio album came out in 1999, I think they still count for this current decade.

o_O i made a topic like this like a week ago . Oh well, i would say Dragonforce or The Killers
Porcupine Tree or Converge. Neither of them formed in the 00s, but a lot of their material was released
Just because the debut of some great bands may have happened in a certain time period, doesn't mean there aren't great artists today carrying out these styles of writing and doing it well. They're just harder to find.
I say Dallas Green. :)His work in City and Colour, Alexisonfire and Neverending White Lights is amazing.
I tired to lol. I coudn't stop myself from laughing. I would have to go with Lady GaGa haha kidding. Really though the Dear Hunter, Thrice and Dallas GreenBrokenCYDE.
Say that with a straight face:|.

I know ALOT of people here wont agree but easily for me Lil Wayne. From his great rap to his new rock album which is pretty good in my oppinion. I have to say Lil Wayne.Ugalde-
Maybe if you only focus on extremely mainstream music.[QUOTE="thoraxe42"]
Today's music is NOTHING compared to the music in the 80's and 90's.

Anyway in my personal opinion it's either Between the Buried and me, or Converge.
Mah man :PWhy do people usually only refer to musicians as artists, and never authors or filmmakers, or even painters. Their musicians damnit, this topic title is misleading.

Mah man :PJane Doe is an amazing album, anyone that argues otherwise hasn't given it a good listen.

Yeah! Another vote for Dallas. :D
I'd also like to add Gojira to my list.airg6I'm curious, have you listened to Immolation? Based on what I've seen of your taste, I think you may like them if you don't already.:P
100 percent agreed. It's such an absrasive album, dynamic, emotional album. I really love everything about it. Only blemish is that I really can't understand what Bannon is screaming half the time. It's a shame, because I love his vocals :PJane Doe is an amazing album, anyone that argues otherwise hasn't given it a good listen.

But it just didn't really click with me. Saying that, I think the Dillinger Escape Plan are better than Converge.[QUOTE="MasterC5"]

It happened with me when I finally listened to it in lossless quality while under the influence of a certain herb. It really clicked when I heard the main riff in "Bitter and then Some". I went back to the album the next day and I just fell in love with it. I used to be really into Dillinger Escape Plan. Own Ire Works and Miss Machine CDs. They don't effect me emotionally though. A lot of their riffs and interplay I think "wow this is really awesome", but it eventually gets boring. It's technical, but something feels like it's missing. That said I haven't listened to them for a while. After writing out this post, I'll probably listen to Ire Works or Miss Machine again :P[QUOTE="MasterC5"]

What?
Have you heard his No Ceilings mixtape? Weezy is one of the most overrated rappers of our decade. His so called rap and rock are both disgraces in their respected genres.[QUOTE="Xx_Hopeless_xX"]Really? I respect your opinion, but how are any of those bands worthy of band of the decade?Breaking Benjamin...Disturbed..Seether or All That Remains...but if i had to pick one i'd pick...Breaking Benjamin..

You know, Protest The Hero are still one of my favorite bands, but my love for them has worn off a little bit. After listening to both Kezia and Fortress so much, I kinda took a break from their music. More recently though, I have gotten back into it. Although one thing I will say bad about the band is that they are not so great live.I forgot to mention Protest the Hero, and Gojira, they're also up there in my opinion.

Their 3rd album this year was the best they have done. I hope they do more. I don't how long the story in the albums lasts though.
