Would you rather have a:
- High Speed Connection (50 MB/s Download or as fast as you want, and a fast upload speed) but a limit of about 50 GB/Month
or
- Dial Up connection but no limit (56k)

Ridiculously fast, that 56k connection effectively has a cap of 17.3 GB per month.
Also in the US 56k will not always give you 56kbps due to the way the US phone signaling system works.
[QUOTE="Teenaged"]Well that is definitely more than enough. Hmm, should I make it every 2 weeks? Well actually, 50 GB per month[QUOTE="JIT93"] Every MonthJIT93
Thats is an a-ok amount. I wouldnt switch to 56k because of that.
Anyway it isnt really easy to convince someone.
56k is completely useless imo for downloading a lot of data, and it makes browsing slow as hell.
So, maybe it would be comparable if the limit for the broadband connection was like 100MB per month. :P
I get a download speed of about 1.5 MB/s with a monthly limit of 60GB. I'd consider that fast with a limit, and I'm happy with it.
Fast speed. I've got a 11gb monthly cap shared by my family, and we previously had 6gb cap.
Some facts:
You can download 69mb per hour non-stop and barely hit 50gb in 1 month.
With dialup, you can only get about 18mb per hour going at 5KBps. It would take you 116 days to download 50gb.
When I still lived in Saudi Arabia, I had a choice between a 1 Mbps connection with censored interwebs and a 256 Kbps connection with uncensored interwebs. I remember liking the former more.
