There are alot of them, ranging from the CIA/mob involved in the deaths of Marilyn Monroe and the Kennedy's, the true identity of Shakespeare, the death of John Lennon, aliens, 9/11, George Bush (who ran who), the moon landing, currency to symbology (I think that's a word?).

Anyways, what's your favorite and/or least favorite? My favorite, and one is the Roswell incident, I must of read/seen countless arguments on both sides. I just bought a book "the rough guide to conspiracy theories" and found alot of the information very interesting to read through. Some downright stupid, like people arguing the concentration camps were faked, that's just sad.

The 9/11 conspiracies are by far the most intriguing. I don't think we have been told EVERYTHING that happened that day, as there's just a lot of suspicious stuff that happened that day and many unanswered questions.

You mean favorite as in the one I find most funny? If that's the case, I choose the theory that the Earth is flat.

Seriously. There's a group of people that believe that.:| (which kinda goes hand-in-hand with the conspiracy that says we never went to space)

Apocalyptic prophecies are my favorite type of conspiracy theory. If the world was going to end the way the bible has described, then it would have happened long ago. Although I don't dismiss the possibility that nuclear weapons could destroy the entire planet.

Wouldn't that be the craziest revelation ever. That we''ve never gone into space and the Earth is just a large flat surface. Too bad that's completely ridiculous .

On a very, very, very small window I could see how in 1969 we didn't win the space war (flag was blowing on the moon? no wind up there...) but there is no way today anything can be denied with our technology.

If I remember correctly, the flag didn't blow. It just shifted as the astronauts touched it. The flag was stiff.

Yeah, it's imposssible to deny that we went to space now.

It would probably be the Annunaki and Planet X and 2012. The lizardmen, the Tares and Freemason and the 'global family' can all be tied into this.

The conspiracy theory I posted above deals with the Annunaki which came about due to a biblical scholar by the name of Zacharia Sitchen. In it he claims that the giants of the bible are actually these alien creatures who came to Earth and genetically engineered our lifeform from prexisting life forms that were already on the planet and combined its DNA with their own to form slaves that could work in their gold mines to assist in saving their planet from sure atmospheric peril. They were the giants of the bible.

My favorite conspiracy theory is the "Flat Earth conspiracy theory".

Why is it my favorite? Because it is absolutely 100% asinine, and yet people STILL believe it with every fiber of their being. To believe in this conspiracy theory is to pretty much disregard everything that we know about anything. And yet, people STILL truly believe this ****.

Flat Earth Conspiracy Theory is my favorite, because it is a ridiculous parody of most popular conspiracy theories. It could largely be viewed as clever satire, if not for the fact that people actually believe this ****. These people AREN'T just kidding around to make a point, they're dead serious. And when you look at other conspiracy theories, you notice them taking the exact same form as the Flat Earth conspiracy theory.

So...I loooove the Flat Earth conspiracy theories. Largely because by being so obviously moronic (while still being genuine, and not a parody of conspiracy theories), this sheds a lot more insight into conspiracy theories in general. Read up on this stuff, it is utterly fascinating. Just seeing people who are so delusional defending their little idiotic territory of fantasy. It's an extreme case, but it sure as hell sheds light onto how easy it is for people to become sheep and discard reality for a comfortable nonsense. It's not just conspiracy theories taken to the extreme, it's EVERYTHING taken to the extreme. It's just a matter of degree. These guys are NOT 100% delusional. They interact with society and may have decent jobs. In all other criteria, they are totally functional and normal. They just seem like they're bat**** insane when they're talking about this specific topic.

Which ought to make us ALL wonder if we're also "drinking the Kool-Aid". If you're sure that you're not, then you probably are.

And that's a bit scary.

But that's why the Flat Earth conspiracy theory is my favorite. Because despite being so incredibly stupid and moronic, "normal" and "smart" people still manage to delude themselves into believing this **** for whatever reason. And if normal and common folk can delude themselves into believing THIS, then you and I probably aren't the exceptions.

9/11 is one of my top. But at the moment the most ridiculous is the "Michael Jackson Is Not Dead" one in which people believe he faked his own death. Which goes hand in hand with the Elvis and 2Pac ones.

The "faked" lunar landings theory is intriguing. Some state that Kubrick was actually the man who directed the project. I gotta admit though, at the time, who would have been better than Kubrick for this particular endeavour?:P It's total B.S., but intriguing nonetheless.

There's also some speculation that Buzz Aldron might have seen some kind of "object" flying in their vicinity sometime during the flight to the moon. I can't remember the details, as I heard it years ago in an interview, but he stated that there was some kind of ufo. You can find it quite easily on youtube.

All the 9-11 stuff, I tend to believe that most of it can be conjured up as fodder for the nutties, but if any of it is true, I'd just as soon not know about it.:(

A (shameless) bump to mention one I completly forgot about til now, The Philadelphia Experiment. I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with it, but it basically argues that in 1943 US Navy members went from being on a ship to in a bar and there is supposed "witnesses" of having them. The ship disappeared and then reappeared. Wartime always brings many weird stories (foo fighters, this etc).

I love the conspiracy theory that states the world is hollow and that the north and south poles are actually hidden entrances into the middle of the earth where another more advanced civilization resides. Some pretty renowned people have believed in it :). That Planet X/2012 is so silly but it still makes me slightly paranoid about it that there's so much hype that someone out there is going to do something really silly out of fear of the world ending anyway mass killings/suicide/war.

That's very funny, because you will find the same things happening in almost any major disaster and act of terror or war, proven it is covered in enough detail. They of course though must be held open to conspiracy theories too, shouldn't they?

They could make a regular-sized car that gets 200 miles per gallon, but oil companies own all the patents. Even though it's not possible to get more energy out of a gallon of gasoline than God put into it.

Aurora Project

-Develop a jet that could go hypersonic

-To replace SR-71

-Developed in Area 51 (I think.)( Most of Nevada is owned by government so a lot of open air space available)

-appears in "Command and Conquer: Generals" as a bomber type aircraft.

-wikipedia says that if it was a real project it was most likely abandoned due to the development of unmanned airial vehicle (UAV's) which are used for reconnaisance.
