What's with all the "hipster" hate?

Personally, I thinkthose that are considered hipsterare people who might actually want to try something different, to be something other than a mindless consumer. I think the term "hipster" is a dirisive term invented by conformists to lable those who reject their beloved mainstream culture, and therefore, in their minds, threaten their narrow minded way of life.

Am I right?

Because I am a hatester.

In other words both the people who follow the mainstream and the people who avoid/hate on the mainstream are tools. The problem with those who hate on the mainstream is they like to pretend that they aren't conforming.

You have to judge things by what YOU like, by the style YOU like to wear. Not what the mainstream loves or hates.

The same reason Emos and scene kids get hated on. They look dumb as hell.

because most of them are pretentious douches who dress like idiots with a supiriortiy complex because they listen to thousands of bands i have never heard of.

I mean theres a difference between having your own style, or "beating to a different drum" as it's called......and looking like a complete idiot out in public. Just be yourself for god's sakes!

One of my best friend is a hipster, so I don't really hate them :D

And with LATFH.com, while I think they have a right to wear whatever they want I still think it's rediculous, but I've always thought people considered hipsters were those on LOOKBOOK. I mean, those are how people dress in my area,along with some of my friends,and while I wouldn't consider myself a hipster (or anything for that matter) I dress similiar to that.

Looking at these pictures, I guess I didn't know what a hipster was. I thought I had some "hipster" since I've listen to some indie bands.

Anti Conformism is different from Non Conformism. When one chooses to go against the mainstream they are conforming to the anti mainstream.

Obviously, that guy is desperate for attention, along with most other people who dress like that. He doesn't dress like that simply because he likes the look.

Its one thing being different and then theres another being different for the sake of being different. If you purposely go out trying to be different its cool to be different then thats pretty lame.xTheExploited
