Danger spoilers ahead for school days and oreimo.

Anyways i watched school days because i've been told over and over by anime fans and reviews alike how awful it was but i really liked it! Yes the ending is really dark and shocking but it took balls and it was a real ending! Most animes with harem elements turn into cop outs where he picks no one or everyone but school days really ends it.

What anime do you think is the worst ever?

I personaly dont like most shonen but i dont call naruto the wrost show ever.

Another anime i liked that gets hate for its ending is oreimo, because he dates his sister. The show its self was still a good ride regardless of its ending. But come on people the show is called "i can't believe the little sister is this cute" and people were shocked he picked kirino really?

Almost all anime series. I like anime movies. Anime series never seem to end, or have some sort of stupid ending.

I don't know, if I don't enjoy it then I don't watch or read it. Bartender was pretty bad, it was so cheesy and quickly picked up having one chapter stories which sucks. I stopped reading after like 10 chapters I think.

You should check out Kids on the Slope, it's 12 episodes and moves along very quickly.

Mars of Destruction is legitimately the worst anime I've ever seen. I'd never before seen so much confusing, pretentious garbage all crammed into a 16 minute (and poorly animated I'd like to add) OVA.

Why? I love it. It might have ultra violence but it's to show you what prejudice can do to people. It has strong themes but they're there to convey a strong message as well.

I never got past chapter 5 or so. It was just incredibly boring. The violence was just weird and out of place.

You don't have to read the manga! Just watch the anime. It has one of the best intro songs ever made for an anime! Trust me on this one.

Don't watch it if you're depressed though.

I like both to be honest. I like watching action sequences animated because it's hard to draw those sometimes. Anime also has music and color and you can multi-task, do other things while watching.

I think #3 is a result of #1 and #2.

Not that I've watched Avatar (in a while) or Korra, but I would certainly start watching that over alot of the drivel releases in the anime industry.

SAO?! What?! WHAT?!

It's passable at best. The main character is a Marty Stu, terrible romance, bad pacing and the villian is a wuss. SAO had a great concept but it was terribly executed.

Exactly what I felt when looking at it. SAO was DEFINITELY a great concept. Hell I thought the first 10 episodes were at least entertaining. But after that it quickly started going down hill. I think I watched all the way til episode 17 before I completely lost interest in SAO. I hated how much the main character changed from his usual self when he was a "Solo player" to this whiny overly emotional character after he started his relationship. I mean, its ok to change, but what he changed into was unbearable for me to watched. The series managed to go from a great concept to a very cliche anime mid way through it.... Even though it became unbearable to watch after episode 17, I still wouldn't give it the worst anime ever award....on second thought, I think its the only anime I ever quit watching after a certain point...:P Otherwise, I'd probably say the Ninja Scroll animation series. It would have mostly been due to the fact that it seem like a very low budgeted animation series though aside from its other flaws...

Dragon Ball Z gets a lot better with season 4, but, of the series I've watched, it's my least fav. I think my favorite would be Gungrave and Higurashi.

Could have fooled me, because the writing is crappy enough to be Japanese and the animation style looks clearly influenced by anime (and the creators themselves said they were influenced by all types of different anime when making the show...)

The art style is distinctly western and the fact that you even suggested that it's eastern influenced illustrates how little you know about anime and cartoons. Also writing is subjective... meh : roll :

Naruto is damn good at what it tries to be, a simple shounen action manga with a cheesy story. The fight scenes are drawn really well, I think people who think Naruto is crap expect good stories from shounen for some reason.

Which changed in Naruto Shippuuden. The show began to take itself seriously, and emphasize on the plot as if it was serious and sophisticated. The original Naruto did what you're saying pretty damn good. The fighting scenes were amazing, exciting and very well-done. Shippuuden on the other hard is plagued with nonsense and weak and boring fighting scenes that each would span over 10 episodes with little fighting and a lot of philosophical garbage.

Naruto has always been like that. Its always been serious and always been full of flashbacks/never give up speeches. Always. Haku fight? Its there. Neji fight? So much talk about destiny. Gaara fight? Will of fire and stuff. Naruto vs Sasuke had a shitload of it. Shippuden actually toned down the flashback/philosophy schtick a bit and the fights are a lot more interesting but its still there and not really a big deal to me. Shonen animes are always like that.

Chinese mythology =/= Anime although I'll admit I chose the wrong choice of words when I said "eastern". and again no, distinct art style that separates it from Anime, that one is a no brainer.

Come oooon. Yes the original Naruto had all of that granted, its a shounen anime after all. But it was much less than it is in shippuuden. Most importantly, they somehow managed to separate the shenanigans in episodes of their own and the actual fighting in its own episodes within a certain battle. So yea you still had to watch that crap but you also got to watch some actual and concise fighting. While in shippuuden the two elements overlap so freaking much in all episodes that you don't actually see the characters fighting. Its all too discrete.
