I haven't forgotten about him. I'm just one of the few Libertarians who opposes withdrawing from Iraq at this point. I also prefer to vote for someone with a chance to win because this election is critical in defeating socialism. I agree with Dr. Paul on the vast majority of issues, but I can't vote for him in good conscience. I know that McCain needs my vote in this swing state. I have many major ideological differences with McCain, but I believe he is much better qualified to run a country than Obama, and I also believe he is the only candidate with a chance to win that has any measurable degree of character.

lol defeating socialism?

You know, maybe if people were more open-minded we might actually manage to come up with some interesting mixes of political philosophies that could greatly benefit the nation.....

Maybe if we adhered to the principles this country was founded on it would greatly benefit this nation. I believe in free-market capitalism, personal responsibility, and a government that functions only to protect the life, liberty, and property of its citizens and closest allies. Socialism contradicts all of those points.

Problem is government has to play a role as people are corrupt and businesses and such will go corrupt without anything to fear thanks to human greed.

Don't get me wrong, I very much believe in capitalism, but at the same time everyone should have the right to healthcare along with our fire-departments and police departments. It is even right there in the constitution that we have the right to LIFE and PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!!!

Nationalized healthcare supports both those foundations.

Agreed, that is what we need. When I first heard about the idea of Capitalism in economics it made perfect sense.

However there is something about John McCain that makes me very weary to trust anything he says.

Is there any way I can go back in time and live in the 1870s?

He'll get a resurgence in popularity if and when he accepts the Libertarian Party nomination for president. He'll still have no chance at winning, but the LP is the country's largest third party and Ron Paul returning to it will both fire up the existing base and attract new members.

It is sad he never got taken seriously. He had some interesting ideas and was the only real conservative in the election....
