When I was 13, I held a summer job working in my grandfather's tie factory. Standing on my feet all day sorting materials for neckties was not fun. I remember I made about $4.75/hr (all of it went to pay for my private schooling tuition). Manufacturing is hard work. Don't envy anyone that has to do it full-time for a living.

my first paid job was a referee for youth soccer games when I was in like 6-8th grade.. i think i got like $10-$15/game depending on the age group of the kids playing. my first hourly job was as a checker at a grocery store in high school and it sucked.

I worked for my grandparents on their farm. Outside of that my first real job was working in a concession stand at a family fun center (bowling, arcade, laser-tag).

It was a decent job. I started at 8.50/hour and at the time minimum wage was 5 something. I quit my senior trip when they declined my vacation for my senior trip after working there for almost 3 years.

I've never had a job.

That is because I don't feel well in the mornings.

Every morning when I wake up I feel really really tired like I just want to go back to sleep again. I almost always feel tired during the day as well. This feeling of extreme tiredness usually persists throughout the day and prevents me from functioning normally in society. I usually end up sleeping in the time when people are working.

In addition I also have severe nausea almost every morning when I wake up and sometimes I also vomit.

I also can't drive a car because almost every time I am inside a car I get severe nausea and sometimes I also vomit.

So since I can't drive car, mobility problems also prevent from finding a job and performing well on the job.

My first real job was as team leader to a group of programmers when I was 16.

Didn't last long though, boss started giving me crap when it was time to pay up, saying that since I was still a minor he wasn't going to pay me normal rates.

How do you support yourself then? Are you collecting disability?

In a local pushbike shop, just cleaning bikes and ensuring that the shopfloor is clean and presentable. Kind of shit job but it was my 1st job when I was still at school, I only made £25 for a day's work.

My first job was landscaping back in the summer of '08. Me and some other dudes helped build a concrete staircase in a park. The funny thing is, there was a staircase about 50-100 feet from where we were building ours leading from the park up a hill to the sidewalk, ROFL.

I'm on my first job now. It's pretty much security work at my university. All I do is sit at a desk and as the last person to leave I make sure everything is locked before I go. It's not much but I get 8 euros/hour which is not that bad for just sitting on my ass.

When I turned 18, I had two jobs, which I consider my first real jobs. My primary job was a dispatcher/ OP manager for a trucking company monday through friday and my secondary job was valet parking on weekends, friday night to sunday night. I was making almost $6500.00 a month with both of those jobs, even though I worked almost 7 days a week. That wasn't bad for a kid, especially back in 2006. At least I could take a few days off every month to hang out with my friends. And by hang out I meant go to Vegas and waste $1500 - $3000 once a month. Fun times...which were almost as bad as those Hangover movies. Except the only thing that was missing was Mike Tyson's tiger, chickens and crazy Asian dude. Fun times indeed...

Delivering ads was my first one... Did it for a few months, then newspapers... Was a lot better, but they changed my route so I quit. Third job, which I still have, is at a grocery store. It's ok. Hence why I haven't quit yet.

when I was like 10 or so I bought a box of candy from Costco for like $10 had like 40 count of product, I'd sell for $.50 each, went door to door selling them, doubled my money, bought more went door to door selling it, kept doing this to make money, and sold it at school to other kids, did this and off for 2 or 3 years when I needed money for something I wanted

That's pretty genius. People always feel compelled to buy candy from kids...especially if you slip in there that it's for a "fundraiser" for your school or something.

My first on the books W-2 job was working at Stone Mountain Park. I don't think it was a state park but it was massive and kinda like it wasn't sure whether or not it was an amusement park or some natural scenic park. I was 15. First year I made cotton candy in a hot back room. My second and third years I rotated from various food buildings, making hot dogs, chicken nuggets, ice cream, and potato twists.

It was pretty fun for the second and third years. It paid dog shit but I made enough to buy video games and pay car insurance so it felt like I was balling. Plus there were girls there who seemed extremely happy to be around boys without supervision of parents or teachers.

I helped my dad a few times for some pocket money. He does construction and reno cleanup mostly.

First real job was as a cashier at a drug store. Still there, but I've taken different positions since and done a number of jobs within the store. Currently looking for something else because the company is circling the drain in terms of how their employees are treated. It's become money over people, like most companies.

Retail Salesfloor worker. It was all good till they moved all the good managers to different stores and brought in fresh young graduates who bullied the disabled and overworked everyone with higher expectations and push everyone to go faster. They delayed lunch to the diabetics, an old woman was always the one on the grid to clean the majority of the store and the team was toxic. I just left and didn't want to go back, So now I'm jobless.

I was moved around shifts from floor, cashier and carryout. I originally was going to be a Photo Technician due to my photography background, but it all failed.

Had a summer job doing office work for a real estate company. Filing, computer tasks, etc. Also worked in the warehouse on occasion.
