What do you guys think was before the Big Bang? Do you think God made it happen, since it couldn't have happened from nothing. Or maybe it was the remains of a previous Universe, going from Big Bang to Big Crunch to Big Bang and so forth.

If so, what was "the beginning"? Was the Universe infinite and there was no beginning, except a Big Bang to Big Crunch, etc cycle?

It's hard to understand "infinite" for a person.

Also, will there ever be a point where Science can help us know what happened before the Big Bang? My opinion, I don't know. It may be hard figuring out what happened before an event that started everything in the first place scientifically.

note: this thread is not a "does God exist or not" thread, you can say that you believe he started it all and so forth but stay in your limits!

Since Science is progressing, we now know of the Big Bang, and maybe one day we will know more, such as how it all came to be. Maybe space-travel will be invented? (time-travel)

perhaps but maybe not too. I remember watching something on the Science channel that talked about what happened millionths of seconds afte it. I think that they might have said the universe and all the other were one. But I forget

I say we just leave it alone, because logically the universe should not exist. You go backfar enough on the timeline and youget to the question of what caused the big bang. Now obviously we don't know, which brings out the "therefore god exists" crowd. But then you have to ask yourself what was there to create god? And because we can't prove that god or whatever created god exist, nor what caused the big bang, we are left at the conclusion that the universeand life itself cannot exist. Its like trying to divide by zero.

Well how would time-travel work? It would be cool if it did, cause then we can get the answers to all our questions! But..I mean if through time-travel you were to go back like 10billion years wouldn't you just land in space at that time and die and not come back? lol

hah yah. If you say what created the big bang, then what created that, and so on, it's impossible. Either God is infinity, or the Universe is infinity (and just has been repeating the big bang process over and over)

Imagine a time-travel thing though...going back to like a minute before Big Bang started, and then you see this:

Ok jokes aside...

theory suggests that if an object were to enter into a blackhole or any other tear in space and survive the gravitational forces...which is improbably and likely will not happen...but IF it happens theoretically it would end up in a different place in space as well as a different time...this is because a blackhole is a tear in space...the object would just fall into another plane of space and because space is continuous the different plane would theoretically be a different time...national geographic channel FTW

but what if a probe was sent in and was able to transmit info or if humans found the ability to create blackholes to different times and locations through technology...all theory though

yeah...up until the gravitational forces shred earth and engulfs it destroying and killing everyone and everything...other than that..its all good :P

Its impossible by human method to travel into the past, before we had the ability established to time travel or atleast thats what scientists say.

Or maybe some Aliens will come to Earth and be like "sup well we figured you humans are so dumb so yah..this is how you use time travel" and then we found out how to use time-travel safely by the help of aliens? And all they wanted in return was all of our beer so that they can take it back to their place? Would we do it or no?

if the aliens were so smart they'd be very logical and say "it kills brain cells we don't want to hurt our superior intellect..." and we'd have both time travel and beer

I think that this questionn should be saved for the higher beings
and aalso, i dont think humans can understand the concept of the beginning of teh universe. Its like trying to teach an ant Calculus. It will never understand. it cant understand how to count, so it cant understand how to add/subtract so it doesnt understand algebra, that means it doesnt understand triginometry, therefore it doesnt understand calculus. thats how insanely incomprehensible the beginning of teh universe is for humans.

there's no evidence at all that the Big Bang created matter, for all we know matter could of existed before the big bang, and people assuming it's the begining off everything is just bad science.

Most people like to have a nice simple begining and ending to everything, but really the universe just doesn't work like that. Most likely there was a universe before the big bang, and one day (insanely far in the future) we will have another one.

And then what was the very first Universe and how was that formed?

1) Universe is infinity, an everlasting cycle.

2) God exists.

Lol? I said those are the 2 possibilities. Without a beginning, the Universe must be infinite.

And if there was a beginning, then there must be a Creator..God (who is the uncreated, the infinite).

Those are basically the 2 choices a person can choose to believe. I'm just saying...

you did not say those were possibilities. you posted them as fact. disclaimer next time. and since no theory has been proven, and since man can't comprehend infinity, we should not discount anything. but we should never imply any theory as to being fact.

What else could be the possibility then? Out of nothing something appeared and started everything? Well maybe I've been watching a few Stephen Hawking videos lately on youtube, but those are the 2 main possibilities accepted by physists.

theories are great. but they prove nothing. they just give us ideas of how things are. and who says that there had to be a beginning? perhaps space and time are infinite. or atleast time.

The further we look into space the more answers we can get about how the Universe began and how life itself began. Look at things like star nurseries and such that are billions of lightyears away. We know that the elements that make up stars also make up all the elements of life and at heart all we really are is stardust.

If we could time travel, people from the future would have come back already... Which is why I don't believe in fate.

unless you can only travel into the future. which actually makes more since. :|

Well i think it was stephen hawking or someone but the future does not yet exist. The past does exist but the future does not, because actions were already done in the past but are yet to be done in the future.

So if you time-travel to the past, you can't travel back to the future.

Or if the future does exist then that'll mean everything has already been decided, so there is no point in life.

Omg you just confused me dude LOL hah wow!

you can travel into the future by speeding up time. you can't reverse time, that's why you can't travel in the past.

Humanity will never ever know, i think there are some things in the universe that out minds just simply cant comprehend, such as Creation and God. I believe God made everything, everything and before the Big Bang there was only God.
