@lamprey263: Thinning would be fine but if my hairline starts receding I'm shaving my head.
Exactly what I done. While the receding hairline first appeared and I started shitting myself, as most men probably do, honestly, I prefer it shaved now.

@uninspiredcup: Yep, better to have a shaved head than look like I'm 80 with bits of hair here and there. I probably won't shave it until I need it though.
There's a difference between holding on to most of what you have than very little what you have left. Shaving your head is kinda stupid if the thinning and/or recession is minimal...

Yea, the type of balding is sort of relevant as well. If it's an M shape, or a slight V shape, it's not so much of a deal compared to random patch or thinning wire hair. Personally, I still have about 85% of my hair, but as said, prefer to shave it. It's all going to go at some point anyway, unless you are sitting on a mountain of cash for a hair transplant, your just going to be looking in the mirror everyday getting depressed trying to cover up reality.
@uninspiredcup: Not to mention a lot of people (like me) have natural M-shape hair lines. I had mine pretty much since I was born and it only takes 3 weeks for me to go from buzzcut to hair covering my forehead.
I was kind of like this for a couple years when I was a teen. Now it's just....ummm...short and I gel it sometimes.
I am balding though and I fear I'll have to start shaving it completely in several years.
Just your average crew cut, combed down and cut to 6/8ths of an inch. I usually grow it out for a few months between cuts.
@Gamerno6666: @lamprey263:
How old are you?
Age is just a number.
A lot of young white males start losing their hair before 40. Just wondering do you and Lamprey fall in that category.
Yeah. :(
@Gamerno6666: no shame in becoming bald, you can always become Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson!
Hence my avatar. :D
I always wanted long hair but for some reason couldn't manage to do that but now I finally did it. I have long hair like Tom Cruise in M.I. 2 and few weeks after the hair cut they become like Viggo's in Lord of the Rings.
Something like David Beckham. Cut close on the sides with some length on top.
Combined with a connected goatee.
Last year I had a disconnected undercut pompadour that I grew into a man-bun. In January I shaved all my hair off with a number 2. Now I'm in the process of growing it all long. I'm 4 months in, so naturally my hair looks like utter crap and there is no way to style it where it doesn't look like total shit. It should level off and start looking semi-presentable again by September if I'm lucky.
