Metal - of varieties Doom, Black, Death, Progressive and Symphonic. Romantic Classical Music also ranks up there, as does Shoegaze and Industrial Rock.

Classical and alternative rock are my biggest passions but I'll pretty much listen to any genre except for metal which I can't seem to enjoy anymore.

Yeah I don't know honestly. I can still listen to some old industrial bands now and again and enjoy them but I just can't seem to get into metal anymore despite the fact that there are many fine bands out there that mix up elements that would appeal to me such as the bands with a more classical approach to their material. This is especially odd considering my proclivity towards modern composers utilizing sound clusters and creating large walls of ebbing and flowing sound movements. Oh well...it's not like there's not more than enough stuff out there to keep me busy.

well, the way your formulate the problematic (or lack of there actually being one), it really is a curiosity why certain pleasures fade. o:

That's a mighty nice list! It's always nice seeing Skinny Puppy and Iannis Xenakis on a single short list although I'm not too partial to John Cage except for some of his earlier works involving spatial experimentations and the prepared piano. Have you ever listened to any Giacinto Scelsi or Gyorgy Ligeti by any chance?

It's rare that one post will be seen by large numbers of people soI keep posting my link. If you don't like my music that is your problem and yours alone.

Yes but this person was asking about music soI figured I'd post my link here as well. I don't think I've done any damage with two posts.I wasn't planning on flooding this wonderfulforum soI think we should all calm down and enjoy the variety of sound on our tiny planet.

primarily Metal and Classical. I just love technical intricant music of nearly any kind. However, I also greatly enjoy ambient stuff like Godspeed You and plain heavy stuff like Devin Towsnend.

If I had to pick one, it would be metal. So much variety. I can go from Agalloch to Between The Buried And Me to Symphony X to Queensryche, and they sound nothing alike really.

Underground rap until the day I die. Mixed with a bit of rock and nu-metal. FTW!
