to the OP, what you described is called "character" and is a vital part of life, that builds "integrity". John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

mmm

1: When you die you go to heaven
2: When you die you wonder the earth as a ghost for ever
3: When you die you cease to exist

The meaning of life follows on those three things....personally i wouldnt mind option one or two

Your purpose in life is to reproduce because you are biological, and that's all. So go ahead and have as much sex as you want.

I'm surprised that up until my post nobody mentioned '42'. Anyway, in my opinion there is no meaning to life. Life just happened to be created through the miracle of random coincidences, as I'm sure has happened in a few (at least) other planets somewhere, and in the end, life on Earth and the planet itself will cease to exist. Then an infinitely long time later particles from the destroyed Earth will become a part of another planet that'll happen to be in the exact right place and time to create new life, and so on and so forth.

it's simple really. it's to find out who you are, live life to the fullest, and to not be an a-hole. Just sit back, relax, enjoy the ride, and don't take things too seriously. It took me 23 years to find this out.

since we are created in the Creator's likeness, it's impossible to "find yourself" without knowing the Creator first. ya smell me?

Wanch the movie Monty Python's Meaning Of Life and filter what you see under the prism of comedy.Afterwards apply the obtained information to life's situations and you got it.It works like a Swiss clock

Good point, but the movie is extremely boring next to The Holy Grail.

Stop asking for the meaning of life. That's completely retarded. Life is not a word or a phrase or a book or a song. It's something else and it has nothing to do with language, thus it has no meaning. If you want the purpose, well that's very easy, it's just to enjoy yourself.

could you "enjoy yourself" alone on a deserted island? not singling you out, just making conversation ya know. but i dont think so, we were also created for each other to help each other and bond and grow together. also, living life to simply try to 'enjoy it to the fullest' is simply a deception. living for your emotions, flesh, sinful and selfish desires only engrosses you more into a slave-like bondage. its the addictive, yet destructive power of sin. :-( without being too preachy, living for God does pretty much the exact opposite, and is the only place where one can be liberated and enjoy the life God has purposed for us. and thats addicting too, but instead of leading to death and destruction, it gives birth to life and liberty. :-D

Throughout the whole of human history we have had a tendency to focus on the wrong questions. In my opinion, "What is the meaning of life?" is a great example of a "wrong question." I think the better question is, "What can I do to give my life meaning?"

That's just me though. :D

Life means nothing. What you do with it, that's what matters.
