My go-to order would be:

Meatball marinara with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, green peppers and mayo.

Honourable mentions include Tuna and Italian BMT.

What about you?

Turkey with lots of salad, olives and honey mustard or mayonnaise.

Prefer my sandwiches with plenty of vegetables. Gives it texture. All-meat sandwiches feels like biting into a block of wet sand.

I don't go to Subway much anymore. But if I do, I get what I think is called a Spicy Italian sub.

A foot long turkey breast sub with lettuce, cheese, mayonnaise, cucumbers and bacon. As for bread, I typically get Italian herbs and cheese.

I used to enjoy eating at Subway until the whole Jared Fogle fiasco hit the news and Subway may claim they didn't know what he was doing but they knew and tried to hide it until Jared got caught. Now I go to Blimpie instead. I actually like their food over Subway.

I order self-loathing, with double regret and some bitterness sprinkled on top, because I walked into a Subway.

Their sandwiches are absolutely terrible, which is why I avoid them altogether. I'd go with either Blimpe, or better yet, Jersey Mike's. The stores are cleaner, the food is fresher, and there's no pre-sliced meat used at all.

Not sure what the prices are like in other countries but from the ones popped up here it's fairly ridiculous.

Just use Greggs and ignore it.

Same for Pizza Hut. Few of them now, but rather just support local Italian, pizza usually way better at a cheaper price point.

Haven't been to a subway in like 15+ years. We have some really good local sub shops so no reason to eat that trash.

Their bread truly is terrible. Tastes bad and is dry, but also filled with sugar for some reason. Not sure what kind of standards people have who enjoy it.. Maybe Subway has different quality based on where they're located, but goddamn. Horrible.

I mean, I vastly prefer McDonald's over Subway. And "I prefer McDonald's over.." is something that should never be said.

I tried Subway recently since they had a 50% off on Footlongs. Got sick with both of their sandwiches that were Buffalo chicken/turkey breast with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onions, bellpeppers, and banana peppers with vinegar and oil.

I used to go to Subway like in 2005 and it was amazing and flavorful. If I had to pick a sandwich shop it would be Jimmy John's which are amazing and beat Subway.

I haven't been to subway in years, it's awful. I prefer Jimmy Johns or Firehouse Subs or Jersey Mikes.

but I used to get the marinara meatball sub with all the veggies and stuff on italian herbs and cheese bread

or a classic italian BMT or BLT or whatever, just make it spicy

Meatball subs are great but not very healthy. I switched to Chicken Teriyaki a few years ago.

Spicy Italian.

I like Italian subs, grinders, hoagies, etc. and there's a real shortage of them in California, or at least in my area. I don't need no fancy pesto chicken or chimichurri roast beef with arugala--though those are all fine, don't me wrong--but a nice big roll cut down the middle with nice Italian cured meat (gimme that coppa!), some veggies, and then oil and vinegar is all I need.

Yeah, this.

  • Oil and vinegar
  • Pepperoncini
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Olive
  • Provolone

Don't go to Subway much, their quality really has gone downhill in the past few years. Used to really like it, though.

Ahh Greggs. They are okay.. a bit pricey. Can't believe they no longer sell Meat and Potato pasty.

Not a fan since I tried them over a decade ago. Prefer local restaurants to make subs. I actually liked McDonalds subs better when they were available.

This no-option has happened a few times as its the only cheap food outside my physical therapy.

@loonski: Is that the Bobbie? Man, I love that sandwich.

OT- I usually grab a sweet onion chicken teriyaki on Italian herbs and cheese bread with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, black olives, a few onions, salt, pepper, and extra sweet onion sauce. Oh, and it has to be toasted.

There was a particular combination that a teacher of mine recommended to me. It was basically Italian style with various meats, peppers, olives, etc. Something that he created obviously...probably from when he was hungover. Lol. Haven't had it in a while now though so I can't recall the exact combination.

These days if I'm going to Subway, I'm making the sandwhich into a salad. They do a good job of chopping and mixing it up, one fo their redeeming qualities.

But if I'm really craving a sub, I go to the nation's number one sub place -- a grocery store lol. I'm fortunate enough to live near a Publix. Really like Firehouse, too -- specifically the hook and ladder.

I'd normally go for the Meatball sub but most of them just like what @uninspiredcup mentioned I just go to a Greggs for quick food or sandwich from the Tesco or Boots
