There are handful of TV Shows forgotten by many, but I haven't forgotten them how great they were, even if they happen to be one-hit-wonder. But anyways, they are:

  • Firefly
  • Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles
  • Night Rider 2008 (Reboot)
  • Beast Machines
  • Spider-Man MTV
  • Pirates of Dark Water
  • Swat Kats
  • Big Bad Beetleborgs
  • Celebrity Death Match
  • WWF (Attitude Era)
  • WCW
  • ECW
  • TNA

A lot of 90s cartoons.

Ed Edd n Eddy

Dexters Lab

Johnny Bravo

Courage the Cowardly Dog

2 Stupid Dogs

Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Jackie Chan Adventures

Beavis and Butthead

Celebrity Deathmatch

It seems like the CN shows aren't nearly as remembered as the Nick shows.

Chozen its the best show, if you describe it, its sounds horrible and so are the trailers which is probably why it got canceled (its about a white gay rapper who just got released from prison and is trying to make it). However the songs are amazing and its super funny and everyone I've shown an episode to loves it.

  • Exo Squad
  • Dollhouse. The first few episodes are just alright, but once it gets going it's on par with everything else Joss Whedon has done.

Probably "Space: Above and Beyond". Take the best part of the space marines from Aliens, mix it in with the attrition warfare of Battlestar Galactica, and add some Wing Commander (game) to it. It was wayyyyy ahead of it's time. But also poorly acted.

and "Earth 2", which is basically "Alpha Centauri" or "Beyond Earth" the TV series :P Had some decent actors, too. Look how young Clancy Brown looks!

"Dead Like Me" is about a bunch of grim reapers dealing with their new [after]life. Pretty great stuff. It's incredibly goofy, but also dark as hell at times. It get's a little sappy later on but was solid the whole time imo. Also, Mandy Patinkin of "Princess Bride" is in it (you killed my father, prepare to die!)!!!

I could never get in to Dollhouse :(

- Firefly - always think I'm gutted this got cancelled, but then part of me is like but yes we have this very, very solid 14 episode story that wasn't over saturated or run in to the ground.

- Forever with Ioan Gruffudd (cancelled after one season)

- Happy Endings

- Young Justice although this is coming back awww yeh!

- Freaks and Geeks was badass, might be worth another watch soon

It's depressing how bad wrestling is these days it will never come close to what it was 96-2005 in my opinion where the best years. I can't bring myself to watch today's product.

@warmblur:Awake was great.

@davillain-: Firefly will never be forgotten. The fans won't let anyone forget about it. Ever.

@thehig1: Better Off Ted was awesome.

@goodzorr: I liked Forever. I could have done with more of that show.

I throw a vote of for Stargate Universe. So much potential in that one.

Another great show that should have had more seasons was an older Canadian/South African sci-fi co-production called Charlie Jade.

HBO's Carnivale got cut short way too soon. So much to explore there.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I really liked Caprica.

The Dracula series from 2013 was pretty fun.

The US remake of The Tomorrow People was good.

I thought the Project A-ko spoof they did of Kimagure Orange Road summed that series up perfectly:

@Byshop:

Never saw that before (I only remember seeing 1 or 2 eps of A-ko). But that clip only sums up the movie, not the TV series. And I didn't really like the movie, because it takes itself too seriously, and lacked the supernatural hijinks of the Kimagure TV series, which was jokes and had all kinds of crazy shenanigans. For example, Kimagure had quite a few time-travel eps, including its last arc, which was later ripped-off by the Haruhi and Steins Gate movies (hence why both movies turned out so similar to each other). Kimagure is one of the most underrated anime shows (at least in the West).

I remember seeing all of it back in the days of VHS cassettes at Blockbuster. Back then all anime was new and shiny and I had patience/interest in high school love triangle slice of life dramas. Once I saw that premise repeated across about 10,000 different anime series I lost my taste for those somewhat. A-ko was a bit of a parody of that plus the superhero genre, but I remember literally lolling at that dig they took at Kimagure.

I don't know if it's a forgotten show but I watched Brainiac Science Abuse a lot as a kid. There were some good gaming shows in those days as well, like Gamezville.

@Byshop: AFAIK, the TV series was never officially released on VHS in the West, but it was only the movie and spin-off OVA series that got official VHS releases in the West. So I presume you're referring to the OVAs? As far as the TV series is concerned, the love triangle was just a small part of it, with most of it focused on slice-of-life stuff, with supernatural stuff occasionally thrown in. And it was quite unique how it portrayed superpowers, as something so ordinary and useless, instead of something awesome or superhero-esque.

Bear with me because this was literally a quarter century ago. I don't remember exactly what the source for the tapes was because this was back in the era of "tape trading" but you're probably right and what I saw was likely the OVA and not the proper series. I don't remember the sci-fi/supernatural stuff you're describing at all, just the love triangle bit and slice of life stuff. Also I see there are a lot more episodes of this show than I remember watching. Maybe I'll check it out again.

Quantum Leap got canned by the studio head who hated it, awesome show though. He see's big-foot, can't stop JFK getting shot, becomes a chimpanzee about to be sent into space, meets an evil leaper and all sorts of shit.

Most of the best stories are the small scale "nobodies" where he's faced with a moral conundrum. There is also a weird mix of sci-fi and faith, as it suggests aside from a accident god might be pushing him through time, which is pretty much confirmed in the last (suppose to be season) episode.

I feel like if your show was widely critically acclaimed and/or a cult favorite and/or enjoyed ratings success for a decent period of time then it shouldn't count as forgotten. That's why I almost hesitated to put mine on the list, but I do feel like nobody remembers Community anymore. Everyone's too focused on Szechuan sauce to pay attention to the real goal here: six seasons and a movie! Also, Andromeda. I feel like that show came along just after sci-fi's were going out of style, but before corny sci-fi's with low production values were all the rage.
