It can be anything, here's some stuff off the top of my head what's yours?

  • A local Mall that closed down I have great memories of going to the Arcade their in the early 90's and playing Mortal Kombat 2.
  • Being a kid and visiting my grandparents they are both dead now but I miss not only them but going in that house I found it very comforting.
  • My pets that have past away man it hurts so bad losing a pet heart breaking.
  • Going to Blockbuster Video and renting a game or movie as great as digital media is there is nothing that can replace going to a physical store and browsing the aisle.
  • Watching WCW Monday nitro especially from 1996-98.
  • My old gaming clan that use to play Battlefield 2 together back in 06.
  • Parts of certain years in my life 1999- 2000 low points and high points of those years but I miss the high points more then anything.
  • Watching MTV when it was good.
  • That feeling of being a kid on Christmas morning.
  • Circuit City I have strong nostalgia for that store but I really didn't go there that much.
  • The late 80's culture it just felt magical probably because I was a kid but damn I miss it.
  • Having a passion for skateboarding and reading all the old skating mags from the early 90's.
  • Coming home from School on Friday and getting excited to watch TGIF and looking forward to the Weekend.

My cousin used to live with us till he finish highschool and I miss those days of us kids doing kids stuff. We virtually do everything together so I miss that. Now we all grown up we barely talk to eachother and only meet during holidays.

There are a lot of emotional things I can say but instead I'll put something a little unconventional. One thing that I miss is the 'fascination' or childish excitement about sex. Sure sex is always great but when you've never seen anything like it before and then you first see it, you never get that feeling again. It's something entirely new and adds another dimension to life that you just never fully acknowledged before (as a very young kid).

Big Macs when they were actually big and had the paper ring around them.

Also, 90's music.

Saturday morning cartoons (even though I wouldn't watch them).

KFC Chicken Nuggets. They stopped making them in 1997 and nothing they sell today is quite the same.

Let's see now:

  • Completed game developments with everything in the game and no DLC & hardly bugs
  • Paying $50 for a new release game & now it's $60. But nowadays, it's becoming more like $70/$80/$90.
  • Graphics Cards (GPU) not crazy expensive then they are today for what they offer now.
  • Going to the Movies just for fun is gone and it's all political now what's release.
  • Blockbusters
  • ECW
  • WWF
  • WCW
  • Action Cartoons are gone and replace with skimpy comedy.
  • Action Animes that were animes and not this Moe/Loli/Neko we have now.
  • Nintendo vs Sega was the coolest rivalry in gaming history.
  • Stan Lee passing.
  • E3 excitements before the social media ruins it all.
  • I miss some of the girls I dated in middle school & high school.
  • I miss my old Man who died from cancer. Miss a Dad :(
  • I lost my virginity during my first teenage hood and I miss it. (I regret it too)

Having my best friend being around. He killed himself years ago because of drugs and mental health issues. I feel guilty because I feel like I could have done more to help him. He basically was my only friend I ever had. Miss him.

My grandparents...they're all gone.

My childhood home and especially the yard. I knew every hill, dent and curve.

Saturday morning cartoons and my moms homemade biscuits and gravy just as The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show came on at 11am.

Getting so enthralled in a video game that it really did seem like an adventure (8-bit NES).

Not knowing what's over the horizon.

Local FM radio personalities.

Commercials that were fun instead of convincing you you've got every buzzword health issue they can shove in a 60 second commercial. (♪Double your pleasure, with double mint gum♪ - member that?)

When you left the house phone and went out you just disappeared for a while. Even if you left the answering machine on, most people would just hang up.

Music felt like it was going to change the world.

Those tight tube miniskirts the women wore...mmmmm....

My athleticism. I was a big guy, but I could run fast and was strong as hell. Good reflexes and such. I was that husky guy the size of a fridge that could somehow do a backflip.

Now I'm just a fat slob. Still strong, but that's about it.

*also snap bracelets.

@warmblur: I miss privacy the most and the ability to be out-of-contact!

On the gaming front, I miss just buying a game without needing to consider DLC’s, seasons passes, patches, expansion packs and etc.

I miss just being able to chill in the evening and on the weekends without feeling guilty. Nowadays it seems like there's a never-ending to-do list that just keeps piling up.

My hope that life would figure itself out and things would somehow get much better, prior to inevitable mediocrity.

Yeah but it's not the same. You would never get all the forgotten tracks that get played inbetween the ones we still remember.

Had a Big Mac again a couple of weeks ago. Was so disappointed. Decided I'd never buy one again. I hope I stand by that.

@ezekiel43: Yeah, it is pretty disappointing. A lot of people don't go for the Big Mac anymore which is disappointing. Most people here will get a Quarter Pounder. I think the McRib is hugely overrated. I didn't like mine at all. Lol

I am a 90s kid, born in 1989. I can remember quite a few things since I was a kid. I can also remember how things changed with each passing decade.

For example:

-I'm from the city of Kavala in Greece. In all my childhood and for the most part of my teens there were many ferries(including the ones in the pictures) coming and going to the nearby island of Thassos. There was quite the traffic for Thassos all year round and for the better part of the day. People coming and going and half a dozen ferries moving them and the tickets were fairly cheap. There was that very old small ferry I remember which I dreaded traveling with, but now I would love to have a ride with it. Nowadays only about 2 ferries remain and usually only one does the route and only twice a day. The rest were either sold to other companies in other routes within Greece or to African countries. The ticket prices have risen and the ferries are mostly empty. The traffic increases during the summer, but it's certainly not like what it used to be. And yeah, I miss that.

-Another thing is places. My dad's parental house. After my grandma died, my grandad moved. We took some stuff, he took others, and some were thrown away. He rented it, but after a few years had to return. The house was never the same. After he developed dementia, my parents had to move in with him. It is an old building so they had to do renovations. Needless to say the house is no longer the same as what it was during my childhood.

There are so much more I miss. These are only a few.

@warmblur: 06 was when I was heavy into BF2 clan matches. Ran with the xBELx. Probably the most fun I ever had with a shooter. What clan were you in?

  • I don't mind the rising cost of games. Inflation after all. It's all the microtransactions and day one DLC I hate
  • GPU prices will fall again I if Intel or AMD releases something worth while. But again, inflation.

When I was younger the world just seemed easier to understand. I get that part of that was me being a kid and not knowing much yet.

I just think it took too long for people to increase awareness of this or that issue. And now it's almost as if the human race had one "code" they had worked on that was static but managed, and we're trying to sort through this new dynamic code and patch it in to address evolving problems.

Xbox Live on the OG Xbox. You can kinda play online today via PC tunnelling, but it’s not the same. Some of my favorite online games can no longer be played. Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon 1/Island Thunder/2, Crimson Skies, PGR2, Crash N Burn are a few games I miss dearly.

Also Lick’s Homeburgers. Best burgers ever. There’s still a few locations left - but the one closest to me is about 45 mins away.

Some TVs still have it. Some DirecTV Genie DVR satellite boxes also have PiP.
