Not many like it, in my experience. I suppose it could be kind of like Eternal Sunshine in which the interwebs like it a lot but 80% of the people I meet IRL dislike it.

Yeah, I thought I'd get someone questioning that because people online (at least here) seem to like it a lot. But the vast majority of people I know who have seen it dislike it. When I saw it in theaters with a large group of friends, I literally had to dissuade them from walking out of the cinema.

Yeah, it's one of my favorite comedies. It has some subtle, deeper undertones that I really enjoy.

I agree with OP, Prometheus was quite a good film and didn't deserve the bad reviews people gave it.

Harry Potter films. I can look past their faults because I enjoy the source material and they come close.
Starship Troopers. "mobile infantry and fleet don't mix."

I thought Star Wars Episode 3 was actually pretty decent. It ditched a lot of the things that really dragged the first two prequels down (elements are still there but said elements have been around since Episode 6 so it seems hardly fair to rag on it alone for that). CGI was vastly improved, acting was better and while the writing still sucked it was at least supported by some pretty good actions scenes (though yeah that last duel was a bit much).
