Leaked video from Syria shows FSA rebels (i.e. Obama's friends) using what appears to be a combination of a field gun and modified light artillery shells to launch chemical munitions.

"Appears", is it or it is not? Master_Live

I don't know.

Obviously a person who is hell-bent on supporting the FSA will just say that the video could have been staged by Assad's soldiers wearing civilian clothing.

But it's equally possible that the "intelligence" on which Obama is basing his accusations against Assad was fabricated.

Really? "Equally possible"? Then I guess the US is wasting a lot of money on the CIA, NSA, Department of Defense etc.

The CIA and NSA are worth every penny that's spent on them.  They'll always find the evidence that Obama needs ... whether or not it exists.

That looks like a "hell canon" shooting propane tanks. Propane tanks explode. Unless you can show those are indeed chemical weapons.

propane-tanks.jpg

Look pretty close to what is used with the artillery. So most likely just modified propane tanks.

This is a no win situation, so we shouldn't be getting involved.

A propane tank explosion would be far less effective---as either an explosive or an incendiary---than any of the munitions that Qatar and Saudi Arabia have been giving to the FSA.

If it's a modified propane tank, then it's a propane tank that has been modified to disperse chemicals.

Not all the rebels have access to the same weapons propane tanks being used as artilery from hell canons is pretty common as a DIY weapon......

And how the hell do you come to the conclusion that its dispersing chemical agents? They are modified to make it someone accurate....see the fins and tail.

This whole thing is f*cked. Us getting involved is just going to make the clusterf*ck grow bigger. We should just let them duke it out amongst themselves, I'm sorry for the Syrian civilians but I don't see a happy ending filled with rainbows and unicorns no matter what.

You don't know if those are chemical weapons, you don't know where this is, you don't know who the people in the video are and you don't know when this is.....

Person0

Well the same could be said of the "signals intelligence" and "intercepted communications" that Obama wants to use to justify a strike on the Syrian army.

We don't know where they were recorded.  We don't know who the people in the radio communications were.  We don't know when they were recorded ...

Calling the rest of the tin foil hat brigade.

The last sentence of the video is very telling. They don't know if it is VX or Sarin. Do they even know for sure that what is being fired is an actual chemical weapon?

Anyone can shoot pictures of an artillery piece shooting some sort of weapon. The more telling part is that they are not wearing any sort of protection before they fire it. One would think that wearing chemical protection suits, as well as gas masks, would be imparative, especially when handling or firing it due to not wanting to die should there be an accident while preparing it to fire.

Still, no one knows that this is truly rebels or military dressed as civilians as stated previouisly.

The same people who won't believe any western government confirmation on Assad's use of chemical weapons are convinced by a blurry video where the projectile and those firing it cannot be verified in the slightest. Seems legit.

What lies did Bush tell us about Iraq? Is it about the claim that there were WMD found there even though Iraq Faces Major Challenges in Destroying Its Legacy Chemical Weapons that still exist and that even the US House of Representatives got a report about 500 of them found between 2003 and 2006?

No evidence this video isnt entirely fabricated to begin with to from the FSA. No evidence those are chemical weapons. No evidence that is the FSA, could easily be Assad's men in plain clothing to avoid being blamed.

Either way, its pointless who it was because we need to just stay the f(ck out.

Don't forget that the UN employees have stated after an investigation that they think it is very likely that the rebels have used chemical weapons. Unsurprisingly this evidence was dismissed by the USA and its axis allies.

Why should we believe western governments that lied to us about Iraq and lied to us when they said that they were not intent on regime change in Libya? In the case of the USA, the same government that violates your fourth amendment rights with impunity.

1 person says the rebels may have used it and she even says they don't have evidence. Just some suspicions. Hardly many UN employees saying the rebels almost definitely used chemical weapons that is just ignored. Also that is talking about a different attack before anyone uses this to say the august attack was some false flag.

I didn't mean to say all of the UN employees or even a majority suspected this; that was a typo. There is a big difference between the words 'evidence' and 'proof'. Proof does not exist in science, only in mathematics. Carla del Ponte here claims she has some strong evidence, although of course she cannot claim proof.

[QUOTE="HoolaHoopMan"]The same people who won't believe any western government confirmation on Assad's use of chemical weapons are convinced by a blurry video where the projectile and those firing it cannot be verified in the slightest. Seems legit. MetalGear_Ninty

Why should we believe western governments that lied to us about Iraq and lied to us when they said that they were not intent on regime change in Libya? In the case of the USA, the same government that violates your fourth amendment rights with impunity.

What lies about Iraq or did you not read what I posted earlier? Why don't you find out about Bunker 13 at Muthanna.

1 person says the rebels may have used it and she even says they don't have evidence. Just some suspicions. Hardly many UN employees saying the rebels almost definitely used chemical weapons that is just ignored. Also that is talking about a different attack before anyone uses this to say the august attack was some false flag.

I didn't mean to say all of the UN employees or even a majority suspected this; that was a typo. There is a big difference between the words 'evidence' and 'proof'. Proof does not exist in science, only in mathematics. Carla del Ponte here claims she has some strong evidence, although of course she cannot claim proof.

She claimed she had evidence, then produced no evidence. So that's why we haven't heard any more of this since May...

You're right, we should believe the news coming from a regime that guns down its civilians and clamped down on peaceful protests with torture and execution.

She had witness testimony and her own investigations which does in fact constitute evidence albeit not undisputed or inarguable evidence. I find your cry about lack of evidence exceptionally ironic given that we ourselves as an international community are not privy to the evidence claimed to be possessed by western governments. We are implicitly instructed by them that we ought to take their word for it, when they say they have evidence of Assad's guilt

Well we know a lot more about their evidence then her's. We know about the weapons used, who has those weapons, where the attacks came from, where the attacks hit, intercepted communications and more. We have her saying she thinks its might have been the rebels.

While abhorrent, those chemical weapons posed absolutely no threat to western governments as was claimed by some western political leaders. It was also strongly asserted that Saddam Hussein had strong ties to Al Qaeda - which was one of the reasons used to justify the war which is an assertion which turned out to be false.
