serving in the armed forces shouldnt be mandatory unless we find ourselves in a world war, BUT i do think that mandatory work should happen. Say for two years or so, like from 18-20 years old, where you have to work for the govt helping rebuild our infrastructure and the like~

I think that is a horrible comparison. Why didn't they compare the WWII soldiers to, I don't know, current-era soldiers? That would have been relevant.

How old are you, anyway? You sound like some 14 year old echoing his father's or grandfather's opinions. The economy of the US, and the world, is no laughing matter at this point. The real war is at home, and it is not one we can fight with bullets and firepower.

Did you seriously just compare conscription to the worst war in history to a protest?

The issues and expecaations of Gen Y are much discussed, although you cannot simpy tar an entire generation with the same brush.

If however we did crudely label gen Y's in such a manner though, i.e. wanting to receive more than they give, then the fault lies with the previous generations that created them.
