tonight, and tonight only, there will be a special event with the moon.....it will be 21 miles closer to earht, therefore having a "super" or bigger apperance...this is the first super moon since 1993

That's cool, but I personally don't see a slightly larger moon is so cool, I guess because it's such a rare event or something, but I don't really see what's so exciting.

I'm looking at it right now. It doesn't look noticably bigger than usual, but it is indeed VERY bright.

In fact it's so bright that it produces a lens flare when photographed.

Quick snap I took of the supermoon earlier. Photoshop isn't working so had to edit using Photobucket *shudders*. Wish I lived out in the country with nice scenery, not houses and street lights which I had to frame out :L
