I do find it embarrassing the way I see fellow Christians treat those of another religion or atheists at times.Mario2007

Now when people start preaching to me I start QUOTING The Bible. Things like:

"I'm not concerned for my eternal soul, because the word 'soul' doesn't mean what you think. If you read Genesis you'll see that Adam doesn't HAVE a soul, he IS a soul. Soul means "to take breath", not some ephemeral part of your being that continues after you die. Hell, even fish and animals are referred to as Souls because they RESPIRE! When you're dead you're gone, and that's why The Bible says a Physical Resurrection is necessary: you simply do not exist without your physical body. So piss off and educate yourself!"

I've made people so mad they can't complete a sentence. Funny. As. Hell.

Yup. So many people misrepresent what The Bible is all about. The one lesson that permeates the text from beginning to end is: be meek and humble.

I am an atheist in the sense that I don't believe in any gods (disclaimer because the term is so muddied nowadays) and philosophically I could be called an existential nihilist. I am not hostile to religion as I see it as an important institution for human beings. Most people are better off believing in some mainstream religion. I do find some religions more objectionable than others however.

would consider myself a cultural muslim from the Sunni sect.

Really apathetic though towards religion, except for in cases where it feels it has the right to do harm based on it's texts or the words of a holy person alone.
